I am pretty sure “basta” is Italian for “enough”. I don’t know Italian, but I seem to remember “basta” from an opera.
Looks like you are right. I looked up “enough” in Spanish, and it is, indeed, “bastante”.

I thought it was Italian as well. I remember hearing it time and again from my evil MIL. At first I thought she was calling someone a bastard in broken English.
Did she condemn the Mexican cartel leader for threatening the life of a presidential candidate? Did she condemn the American press for failing to emphasize the fact that a Mexican drug lord had threatened the life of an American candidate running for the presidency? Did she condemn her party for allowing Mexican style politics to make an entry into American politics? Has she ever condemned anything that is evil?

bastante is usually combined with other words, a la bastante bien = good enough, or okay.
Like English, it depends on the conversation taking place and the people doing the conversing.

As for Hispanic voters,
Since most black crime victims are victimized by blacks;
and Since most white crime victims are victimized by whites (victims of Richard Speck, John Wayne Gacy, The Green River serial killer, were almost all white);
I am almost certain, without doing lot of research, Hispanics suffer the most from illegal Hispanics from south of the border. Do not be shocked if Trump does well among Hispanic voters.

Do not be shocked if Trump does well among Hispanic voters.
It might come as a surprise to some, but Hispanics, Cubans, Mexicans, and citizens of that heritage can be most conservative. Like Trump says it's the law-breakers who illegally enter the country, disrespect our laws, and make waves that we should all be concerned about. There is a path to citizenship that many have taken. But the illegals want to jump in line.
Illegals can't vote, so why does any politician pander to them? Citizens can, so why do politicians ignore them? Simple. They are one element of the massive voter fraud we can expect in the next election. Hillary and the Democrats will need every fraudulent vote they can get.
Which brings us back to Hillary. The legal Hispanic voters will have to ask themselves, do they want to vote Democratic and join the blacks on Hillary's huge government plantation and continue the redistribution of wealth. Or will they vote conservative (I'm not saying Trump is a conservative yet) for real opportunity and be able to keep what they earn. In the final analysis, the question will be: Do they want be more like Hillary or more like Trump. If so, I think Trump wins hands down. Of course, there will be some that like living on the dole and want to be victims in poverty the rest of their lives.
Nice post! The only issue I have is conservatism is not based on just 1 issue.
a. Deporting illegals causing crime and closing border so they can’t come back easily is one type of conservatism.
b. Reducing relatives based legal immigrants and H-1B visa’s until 93 million citizens can find jobs is another form of conservatism
c. Restoring military is another form of conservatism.
d. Stopping China, Japan & Mexico from taking us to the cleaners is another form of conservatism.
e. Forming a concrete plan to eliminate national debt is another form of conservatism.
f. Getting rid of Obamacare and substituting it with universal health care which will actually reduce health care costs for all is another form of conservatism.
- 100% private health insurance with ability to buy insurance out of state
- no mandate to buy government defined insurance coverage standards
- Buy only insurance you need, if you are male no need for breast exam or birth control insurance
- Catastrophic only type health insurance available for younger folks
- Limits on mal-practice awards based on actual damage
- Availability of prescription drugs through a group policy
- Portability of health insurance when changing jobs
- Health savings accounts give consumers power instead of the bureaucracy
All this would actually reduce cost of healthcare. Obamacare forbids all of above items!
g. Supporting Traditional marriage is another form of conservatism.
h. Restrict abortions except when mother’s life is at risk is another form of conservatism.
i. Encourage formation of small businesses by removing onerous regulations is another form of conservatism.
If you apply all of above filters, there are NO 100% conservative candidates out there. So we can set our own priorities and choose candidates.
