Interesting discussion to say the least.
Pocket gun...meet leg...
It wouldn’t hurt to allow those with state carry permits to have them inside the recruitment offices.
Does anyone get training anymore or are they spending more time in sensitivity seminars than on the range?
A gun of any kind is a tool, not a toy. Learn how to use it properly and disavow yourself of any notion that its neat or fun.
Well, they could take the armed guards from the Social Security Offices and send them to the recruiting stations for awhile.
The Social Security employees would still have the bulletproof glass.
oops!
Gun grabbers: “We told you so”.
This kind of thing doesn’t help at all.
If the duty officer at the recruiting station had been armed they could have stopped the douche bag. At least one person at every military post should be armed. I can’t believe we are discussing whether soldiers are competent to carry weapons. UFB.
He should get a Purple Heart.. sad we have come to the point where he would need to carry just to go to work.
Looks like he did a Plaxico Burress on his self.

NEW YORK — One-time Super Bowl hero Plaxico Burress was sentenced to two years in prison Tuesday for violating New York’s stringent gun laws and was immediately taken into custody following his hearing.
Burress agreed to a plea deal last month and pleaded guilty to a lesser firearms charge. The charges stemmed from an incident late last fall, in which Burress accidentally shot himself in the thigh at a Manhattan nightclub with a gun that had not been licensed in New York.
He is expected to serve about 20 months with credit for good behavior — meaning he could be released as early as the spring of 2011 — followed by two years of probation.
Burress arrived at the courthouse at 9:41 a.m. ET on Tuesday wearing a jeans and a long-sleeved T-shirt, a stark contrast to the dark blue suit he wore last month when he entered his guilty plea.
He was accompanied by his pregnant wife, Tiffany; his almost 3-year-old son, Elijah, whom he carried; his father and stepmother; and his grandmother.
i believe this guy is a liberal who decided to take a bullet for the team.
Guys like this are the reason the military is a fun and interesting career choice. I wonder how the line of duty investigation will go?
Could we please not give them Glocks. 1911’s are safer from being accidentally discharged.
I agree. Have a security plan in place. Not everyone needs to carry, but there has to be some staff who are trained and ready.
And THIS is why we can’t have nice things.
Um, perhaps the Army ought to concentrate a little more on weapon handling and safety, instead of tranny sensitivity training.
