Huckabee Responds to Trump: ‘John McCain Is A Hero’
Breitbart ^ | 07/18/2015 | Alex Swoyer

GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee distanced himself from fellow candidate Donald Trump’s statements about Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Saturday.

“I said very clearly Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is a hero — Donald Trump will need to determine whether that’s a statement he needs to walk back,” Huckabee told a news conference, saying that he continues to speak only for himself.

Reporters also questioned Huckabee about Trump’s popularity, since the real estate mogul has rocketed to number one in recent polls.

I wonder how Huckabee got out of Vietnam? We know Obama didn’t even legally submit a selective service card - thought his skinny ass was too good for milspec, I suppose

Trump is right..Mccain is not a hero because of a heroic act ...but because he was captured ...BIG DIFFERENCE

Huckleberry is somewhat less than Joel Osteen. I think they’re both closet cases.. Regardless, sheep in wolf clothing.

Was a hero. He has since become a traitor.

Let’s not forget who started the name calling. The “crazy’s”. If the fire’s too hot McCain needs to get out of the kitchen.

John McCain is a hero because he served honorably as a POW, just like the Americans who the Japanese took prisoner were heroes.

Huckleberry, if you want to see the end of the primaries, then maybe you better think of some other things to talk about....let the ‘heavy hitters’ talk about the ‘important’ things, your not there yet....

Not on Hucklewhatever's response in particular, but just notice how the news cycle is evolving. It's clear who is leading the pack. Trump makes a remark that is or can be taken negatively, and a bunch of other candidates react.

When Jeb Bush says something, do all the other candidates have a response?

Benedict Arnold was a war hero too, up to a point. Same with McCain.

Interesting all this “hero vs. draft dodger” dust up over McCain and Trump.

I remember plenty of democrats diminishing the service of Bob Dole and John McCain, and denouncing anyone who would dare question the patriotism of BJ Clinton and B0 Stevedunhambarrysoetorobathhousebarryhusseinsoebarkah.

These are like the ones we’re told about in Isaiah Chapter 5 that “justify the wicked for a reward”

From my research, Donald was sent to a military school by his dad. I don’t know the circumstances, but, it was probably for discipline. He is free to say what he thinks and feels about McCain. Personally, the way he stabbed Sarah in the back - I don’t give a rat’s patootie.

I think McCain had some part in the fire on the Forestall that killed over 140 people. John Kerry has bad mouthed the military since the 70’s. I think Trump was a bit out of line though.

“I’m having a hard time understanding why I don’t have 97 percent in the polls right now,” Huckabee quipped, saying he’ll focus on his campaign and not on Trump.

“You guys are giving him so much attention — give me a little bit of the love,” Huckabee joked to the press.

Huckabee’s response was fine. He can always find smooth words. That’s his strong suit. I would not have gone so far as to call McCain a hero. I suppose only in the sense that all who serve are heroes of a sort. But McCain has been so horrible since that time that I could not use my voice in any way to compliment him unless he gave me something now. That’s not likely to happen.
