The line originated in Obama-supporting comedian Chris Rock’s HBO special during the 2008 election.

“He a war hero. He a war hero,” Rock said of McCain. “He a war hero that got CAPTURED. There’s a lot of guys in jail that got captured. I don’t want to vote for nobody that got captured. I want to vote for the m**********r that got away.”

Lots of McCain’s fellow POWs hate his guts.

A silver star, legion of merit with V device, and I believe 3 bronze stars...

That says nothing about his recent senatorial decisions, but he was in fact a hero.

Not funny then, not funny now. If you want to look for clues on who to blame for McCain’s capture, I’d exhume the body of Robert McNamara. But don’t bother putting it back...

I don’t like all of the politics of McCain, but this was definitely a low blow, one I wouldn’t even expect from a Democrat.

“There’s lots of people in jail who got captured”

Sorry, that was plain funny....

Really? I doubt Trump knows who Al Frankenstein is.

The same Donald Trump who worked for NBC, travels in the same social circles as SNL producer Lorne Michaels and even once hosted SNL has no idea who former SNL star Al Franken is. mm...Kay...

It disqualifies Trump because people who don’t like Trump want him disqualified.

The alternative to Trump is GOPe or Hillary, period. I’d rather have Trump, warts and all, then the dreary, predictable path to socialism and bondage that both of those candidates represent.

In a perfect world I’d want Cruz, and maybe Trump can act as a snowplow for Cruz and put him in the White House, but I fear that Cruz would be ruled ineligible due to his birth in Canada. Just imagine this SCOTUS ruling on that.

Trump may be the only option out there. Anyone else besides the legally risky Cruz means Obamacare implemented and cemented, Common Core implemented and cemented, and most importantly, an influx of dependent big government voters so vast that the we can never recover.

He’s a hero because

1. He got shot down.

2. He was injured in the shoot down.

3. He was captured.

4. he survived the horrific medical treatment given by the enemy.

5. Caved in to the enemy and mad propagandist radio broadcasts for the enemy.

6. As a result the enemy gave him so much more and better food that he was the only POW to gain weight at the time of his release.

War hero my ass, his self-absorbed loser campaign gave us Obama.

McCain could have gone quietly into private life, or "serve" the public in some other, less self-aggrandizing way. But Mr. Keating 5 did not do that. He's a scumbag, in the opinion of this Tea Party hobbit.

BOTH.. A republican presidential candidate is insulting another republican with lines from a black comedian and a former comedian turned democratic politician and they are attacking trump for it!!

Right out of their play book.

--Is the newly patriotic MSM going to call upon Sen. Franken to apologize?--

Sure, that'll happen right after they endorse Trump.

All of those sanctimonious media geeks, with their principled noses thrust in the air while they 'tut-tut' Donald Trump, grow tired and annoying....or in plain English, they suck.

McCain is a war hero because he denied the option to be released early ahead of other prisoners that had been held much longer. At that moment,McCain essentially offered and gave his life to his country. Yes, sometimes simply sacrificing and surviving makes you a hero. McCain is one of them.

Exactly right about no war hero. Too bad he was hungover and had a record of crashing planes. He’s been a full-fledged Communist and advocate of wide-open borders to all criminals, cartels, and lifelong moochers, forever now. His office argues with his constituents about how right it is that most of our ERs closed many years ago.

Although I do not know one person who has ever voted for him in Arizona, he always wins. At least we have a conservative woman up against him this time.

Fat chance. There is too much of this apologizing stuff going on. Democrat/Marxists apologize and the issue goes away and they rise to higher esteem via the media and those in their party. Republicans or whites apologize and it’s career ending. Trump has it right, no apology. He’ll get better at slamming the enemies of America.

No more apologies. No more faux offense!

We take back our freedom of speech and the left can meditate on this:

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me!

Well said!
McCain has a lifetime 82% conservative voting record using American Conservative Union voting ratings. That’s a “B” rating as a conservative.
Compare that with Susan Collins who votes conservative only 47% of the time for an F minus.

Trump has given money to Rats and GOPe. A guy who does real estate deals in Vegas gives money to Dingy Harry? Color me shocked. He’s given money to Republicans, too.

Hell, Reagan was a Democrat until 1962. Maybe we should declare his Presidency null and void?

If you recognize the entrenched Washington machine as essentially the same, one side with a D and another with an R, why not grease the skids on both sides?

I’m no fan of Trump beyond the fact that he’s the only alternative.

What candidate, of either major party, is really going to repeal Obamacare and replace it? What candidate will shut down illegal immigration? The US Chamber of Commerce owns the GOP, and they want government health care and cheap labor.

What has the thumping voters gave the Dems at the midterm elections gotten us?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
