PHOENIX, Arizona Bernie Sanders had his largest rally yet of his nascent campaign on Saturday night in Phoenix, Arizona.
Weve had big turnouts in Wisconsin, in Iowa
but this is the biggest turnout yet! Sanders said as he took the stage to begin his speech. And some people say Arizona is a conservative state! he said, receiving wild applause and cheers from the crowd.
A campaign spokesperson confirmed that over 11,000 people attended the rally at Phoenix Convention Center, which the largest attendance number yet for a Sanders rally.

These are more than liberals, they are socialists and communists, (nor sure how to tell them apart) and probably came from all over Western US. The urban centers of LA and SF have large numbers, always have.

It was inside. In Phoenix. In July.
And Bernie Sanders thinks it was all about him.

These are more than liberals, they are socialists and communists...I don't think so. Across the political spectrum, people are mad as hell. Sanders is their lightening rod on the left, Trump on the right. There's a lot of agreement that the sold-out, elitist, out-of-touch muck in the middle is destroying the US.

Trump had 15,000.Those Trump supporters probably had jobs, and cars, and don't sleep all day. For Bernie to get 11k liberal/socialists off their duffs to a attend rally that effectively opposed Hillary's coronation I find incredible.

lol! I saw that.
When it's all about the racists it's all about the racists.
If Bernie wants to represent them he needs to know that.

In other words, Trump drew 36% more. Or to put it another way, the leftist only drew a crowd 64% of Trump’s.

Those estimates are probably way off. Seems that all the candidates fudge the numbers to make themselves look good. And the media actively encourages this deception. Notice, for example, the use of tight camera shots of the candidate and the rented audience with the premade signs sitting behind. My guess is that if you could see wider shots, you'd notice the crowd is much smaller with a lot of empty spaces.

One national campaign staffer (who asked not to be named) told New Times that while the turnout in Phoenix was complementary to that of the event in Madison, Wisconsin last week that brought out 10,000 people, the crowd in here had a different, better energy. Its always better in red states than in blue states, he added.
Democrats in red states arent used to having attention paid to them, so the intensity of those who show up is amazing. He also called the turnout proof of Bernies ability to expand the electorate.
