During a recent Republican presidential forum, Donald Trump disparaged Senator John McCain’s war record, claiming that McCain is “not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
And the Internet responded, surfacing a photo that some are calling the perfect comeback and reminder of McCain’s service to his country.

McCain is a piece of unrepentant crap today, regardless of what he has done in the past.

Here’s the deal... There have been many war heroes over time. (most didn’t make it home BTW). McCain was not one.
Trump was absolutely correct. “He, McCain” considers himself a hero because he was captured. Being a war hero means more than that.
We have watered down the meaning of “hero”.
From this point forward every trick in the book will be used against him. He will be misquoted. His words will be turned around. He will be lied about. He will be slandered. Again, why? Did he wander off the reservation? Some very powerful individuals are now out to get him. When did he move from asset to threat? For a while he has knocked Sarah Palin off the number one enemy slot. Again, why? I myself don't know. All I know is that everything happens for a reason, so what is the reason for this?
THEY DON'T ALWAYS TELL THE WHOLE STORY!

Feel free to post something supporting that bald conclusion. I’ve seen speculation both ways. Evidence would be nice. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but it isn’t persuasive.
Please remember that the guy shaking McCain’s hand, and gave McCain a pardon, was a crook.

And that’s what Trump should have talked about... not the Vietnam War. Did Trump serve in Vietnam? No? Then it’s a subject he should go out of his way to avoid.
Very, very, very bad rookie error on Trump’s part.
