(CNN)Anger over Sandra Bland's death in a Texas jail has boiled over after newly released video showed what happened at the traffic stop that led to her arrest.

Now, many question whether she should have been arrested at all.

The dashcam video shows Texas state Trooper Brian Encinia pulling Bland over July 10 for allegedly failing to use her turn signal. What started as normal conversation gets testy after Encinia asks her to put out her cigarette.

I’ve watched it at least 4 times.

I’m well aware of what happened.

I’m not outraged by anything he did at all.

I am outraged by my government enabling Iranian nuclear missiles.

I am outraged by Planned Parenthood selling baby parts like ghouls.

I am outraged that the presidents hates America, and that the party we elected to stop him enables him.

This cop DID NOTHING.

This woman acted like a horse’s ass to a police officer, which generally is not a wise thing to do, and then she got arrested, and then she killed herself.

What do you want anyone to do about it? She decided to leave this place. Go complain to her.

The cop is a non-factor.

Unprofessional does NOT equal illegal!!

LOL....It was pure harassment of a non-threatening lone female occupant on her way to her first day on the job.

The entire incident was intentionally escalated by the cop, who's supposed to be the experience professional, who is supposed to be taught how to deescalate a minor situations.

He's handing her a signed warning ticket, the traffic stop was all but over. Watch the video...And then suddenly he demands she put out her cigarette? That's total harassment only meant to escalate the situation.

This is clear to anyone capable of critical thought.

I will ping you with the family sues the crap out of the government down there. And they deserve it.

Sorry, but that wasn’t harassment under TX law.

Again...Unprofessional (which is merely your opinion) is NOT illegal!

Your entire comments are based on assumptions and emotions and not based on any facts.

Even you admitted the traffic stop was “all but over”, which is clearly not the same thing as “technically over” according to the law.

“harassment only meant to escalate the situation”...Wow! You must be clairvoyant since you seem to know more about his motives and state of mind than anybody else.

From experience, my guess is that her attitude and criminal history, which dispatch would have given him while he was writing the warning, raised some red flags when he went back to give her the warning. Her continued hostility and ILLEGAL refusals only escalated the situation.

There is a reason that Texans don’t like out-of-state people telling us how to implement our laws...because we don’t want to end up like the liberal bastion of kalifornia.

You don’t have to like TX law, but you do have to obey it while in Texas. She just found that out the hard way.

By that line of reasoning, it would seem, that Texas law could state that an officer may torture and then shoot anyone they want and the maximum amount the family could collect would be $50.

Sometimes the law is an ass, and a law such as this combined with a psycho cop is just what the fedgov might be looking for to come up with some nefarious excuse to further trample on states rights.

I’m probably wrong, but look for the Feds to take this to another level.

I love how everyone is stating that she ran a stop sign, yet I dont see that in the video and the cop did not cite her for that.

Call it what you want. Harassment, intimidation, intentional escalation of the incident while using his authority to do so, when the traffic stop was all but over.

The incident was intentionally escalated by the cop, who's supposed to be the experience professional, who is supposed to be taught how to deescalate a minor situations.

The video makes an excellent witness.

“Also, the next time you are the victim of any crime, please don’t call a cop. I’m sure they have much more serious matters to deal with than your petty problems.”

Well, as long as I pay their damn salaries, they better come. I also expect to be treated with respect, or a letter goes to the governor, chief of police and my local state senator.

“He may have been rude, but that isn't’t a crime”

He violated the courtesy policy and is now riding a desk. pretty soon he will be riding the unemployment line. Too much bad publicity ( even Donald Trump weighed in on his behavior today) to keep him on as a cop.

“he has to base his actions on the group priorities and not the individual”

That sounds like communism. He bases his priorities on the person he is currently dealing with, not some abstract public.

“It doesnt’t fly here in TX.”

I guess Texans are not independent &question the government people like I thought. They fall in lockstep to authority figures.

Perhaps you should read my earlier posts. I actually cited the legal statutes for you. The cop, under TX law, gave her reasonable, lawful orders. She refused them. She broke the law. The cop did not break the law at all. It is that simple.

Nothing he said or did can be proved as racist. You can assume it all you want, but it has to be provable ‘beyond a shadow of a doubt’.

Your ‘torture’ comment is kind of silly because there is a huge difference between torturing someone and being rude to them. One is illegal and the other is not. If you don’t understand that then there isn’t much hope for you. No law in TX allows anyone to torture anyone else.

The feds can only get involved if the cop violated her civil rights or violated the law. He did not! The traffic stop did not cause her death so there isn’t much of a case there...and before anyone starts claiming ‘false imprisonment’ or some other fed charge, please actually read those laws so you’ll understand why none of those can apply in this case (hint: look at the ‘intent’ part of the elements of the offense).

The feds could get involved if the jail failed in some legal obligation that led to her death, but even that is doubtful if there was actually a crime committed and the State punishes the responsible parties. I would not put it past the feds to try and make this a racial issue, but without any evidence, they will probably fail just like in all of the other cases.

Not to mention the family can sue for civil rights violations via federal court.
The stop became harrassment after he handed her her warning. Legally, any interaction after can be considered harrassment, as the cop should not have detained her further, and he had no cause for arrest.

Nonetheless, that is what she did, not that it matters. What happened during this traffic stop isn’t really relevant except to show that she was not a particularly stable person.

He never mentioned the stop sign violation because there was no stop sign. I have watched that video closely.

News flash...you’re not the only one that pays a cop’s salary so if your issue is less of a priority than another taxpayer’s issue then don’t be surprised if you’re put on the back burner due to low manpower if you vote not to fully support your departments. You have no right to complain about that because you’re merely lying in the bed that you made for yourself.

BTW...That isn’t communism, that is how public service/access things work. It you don’t like it then don’t use them.

Do you not understand the difference between violating a policy and violating a law??? It really is pretty simple. He could, at most, get fired for violating a policy, but he can NOT be prosecuted for it.

Texans do question authority when the authority is wrong, but we also question career criminals that continue to break the law. We have the ability to use logic, common sense, and critical thinking. We use our heads and the facts rather than our emotions and assumptions that you’re doing. In this case, he was right and she was wrong.

Nope, it sounds like you Texans march in lock step to the new world order. All talk about independance, your guns, but bow down to authority.

You’re the one calling it harassment, intimidation, or intentional escalation, but all of those are YOUR OPINIONS only and they make a lot of assumptions about the cop’s motivations which a single fact to back up your claims.

I don’t think his attitude was that bad. I would like to know what prompted him to ask question, not because it was wrong, but merely out of curiosity. His attitude did not reach the level of harassment, according to the law.

You think he was rude and I think she was rude. We can just agree to disagree on that point, but fortunately, it will be judged in TX so I’m not worried. Besides, our opinions don’t matter, but what does matter is that he did NOT violate the law and she DID continuously violate the law. That is black and white and not in dispute.

Like I said before...good luck on the lawsuit. The State/county/cops are all immune if no laws were violated and if some law was violated in the jail then their max award is only $300k. Thankfully tort reform is a great conservative principle that is practiced in TX.

The cop, under TX law, gave her reasonable, lawful orders.

Wrong again, it was obvious the lone female non- threatening driver was not a threat as he even turned his back on her to walk to his vehicle. No?

She was on her way to her first day on a job.

The traffic stop was all but over. The cop sat in his car and wrote the warning ticket, walk back to her vehicle to give it to her the ticket and suddenly tells the female to put out her cigarette who sitting waiting to leave, in her own vehicle.

She sitting in her own private vehicle, the traffic cop already COMPLETED the warning citation walks up and demands she put her cigarette out?

LOL...That was clear intentional escalation of the incident? All he had to do was give the ticket to her, say thank you mama and leave...

That didn't happen. ☺ Whoops... And because of this intentional intimidation while he used his badge to escalate the situation, she ends up dead in a cage?

The cop clearly was fishing and hoping he could cage the female. And she ends up dead while in their custody?

These folks down there in Texas will be jack hammered over all the lawsuits....bet the rent.

And I will ping you first when it happens. I might even ping you ten times. ☺

I’d rather have respect “or bow down”, as you say, to authority when that authority enforces the laws that we, Texans, voted on and expect to be enforced, rather than bow down to a known criminal element.

That is the problem with false conservatives such as yourself. You don’t understand the difference between tyranny and good government.

This cop followed the laws that we voted on. The Texas government is enforcing the laws that we voted on. That is good government. Good government is by the people and does what the people elect them to do. Good government prevents anarchy.

Tyranny is when government enforces laws that we didn’t vote for or ignores laws that we did for vote. That is the difference.

You must prefer anarchy because you think this lady had the right to ignore the laws that Texans voted for and want enforced within our State. That isn’t much different than a liberal Obama supporter because they also believe that they have the right to ignore any laws that they dislike, despite what the public mandates.

Them too.

Someone dies while in their custody over this kind of chicken s**t intimation of a lone non-threatening female. Over an insignificant traffic stop which was all but over?

They’ll be paying big league settlements here.

Ok, again...you apparently can’t read because the laws that I previously provided to you on this forum clearly state that the cop gave her a lawful order.

A lawful order is any order that does not violate State or Federal law and does not violate civil rights. Nothing the cop did contradicted any laws. Just because you think it did does not make it true. Try actually spending a few minutes reading the laws rather than making stupid comments on this forum as if you’re some expert. It makes you look foolish.

Again...”all but over” is NOT the same thing as over.

“that was the clear intentional escalation”...as I said before...WOW!!! You must be clairvoyant or maybe just an a$$ for making stupid assumptions based on your only misinformed opinions.

BTW...the autopsy came out today and PROVED THAT SHE WAS STONED AND HIGH ON MJ!!

MJ is still illegal in TX. Maybe the cop smelled the MJ when he returned to the car. You don’t know so stop acting like you do.
