I think I remember that if the house and the senate will vote and pass a bill 3 times that it is veto proof. Unless they have changed things.

If Obama vetoes Kate’s law (and I hope Trump and Cruz will refer to it as Kate’s law), then I would hope to see especially after today when Ted Cruz showed incredible bravery in a near indictment of Mitch McConnell, I would hope they bring up the word ‘impeachment’ and light a fire in Congress just as they have done these past few weeks.
I think Americans have had it. They are fed up and are not going to take this any longer. The first black or half-black president will go down in history as impeached not because he is black but because he is lawless.
But you know what? I think if Obama saw that this time it was serious, I think he would back down, I really do. Obama would blink.
I’ll share a little anecdote from the latter part of 2013. I have several friends in and around London who were watching the BBC. The biggest news story was Ted Cruz and the House defunding Obamacare. You can imagine how important that was to the Brits. You remember the shutdown, you remember all the protests on the mall, the shutdown of the monuments, the Mall, protestors removing barriers to monuments and so on. Well the Brits were glued to their TV sets watching the BBC report it all. And it looked to them like Ted Cruz and the Republicans were going to win. I was talking to one friend over there and he said “the republicans are winning!”.
Because in the UK it was looking just like Ted Cruz wanted it to look like. He wanted Obama to be seen as a president that would turn down a full budget on everything except for defunding Obamacare. Because the government was indeed fully funded except for Obamacare. Obamacare was the only item that was not funded. So it looked reasonable that there was no danger and no reason ***for Obama*** to refuse the funding because otherwise he would be seen as shutting down the government even though it was fully funded except for his pet program even when it was not up and running.
Then what happened?
Boehner caved. (I think Boehner was blackmailed)
And as happens in history, the victors get to write the history. And Obama’s people wrote the story as Ted Cruz shutting down the government instead of Obama not accepting a fully funded government minus Obamacare.
Obama has never been fully tested on anything accept his failed gun control legislation. And that brings up one more fact related to Kate’s law; the gun used to kill Kate.
The gun used to kill Kate was stolen, was reported stolen from a BLS agent. This highlights the fact that criminals will always find a way to get guns be it that they steal them, have them manufactured or smuggled, criminals will always get guns regardless of laws. Gun control did not and would never prevent Kate from being killed. What would have prevented Kate’s murder is effective border control and no sanctuary cities.
Yes, it is. There are a few attempts in Congress to pass laws requiring the executive branch to obey the Constitution too. If they pass, maybe we’ll need new laws to enforce those laws.

Kate’s law is a paragraph/sectiin within the entire Trump Bill. Obama cannot veto a part. There is no line veto. The part that would make him eligible for impeachment is in Trumps Law section. It has to do with enforcing the laws (defunding the finances )already on the books that sanctuary cities are choosing to ignore

True, but it'll put Obama on record as opposing the simple rule of law, and favoring selective law enforcement to suit his agenda.

What is happening here is what is happening everywhere. The “activists” of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s who have been running government for more than a decade are getting old, heading for retirement homes, or dying off. Their hysterical desire to get ALL of their “Summer of Love” causes (racial “injustice,” pot legalization, “saving” the environment, gay rights, etc.) codified into law before the more conservative Reagan-era kids take power has roiled this country to the point that common sense people are simply saying “ENOUGH!”
People forget that government is generational. The "Hippie Generation" is fading. Fast. And they don't like it one bit.
Obama will be playing right into Trump's hand when (not if) he vetoes this bill.
The American people (by about 70%) are livid about illegal immigration destroying our country. For Obama to stop the federal government from enforcing the laws on the books, will give Trump even more ammo to condemn the left over this issue, and even further force the hand of Congress to do something about it.
Trump's numbers will be boosted even higher by the outrage among the public.
As someone mentioned upthread, Obama would be violating his oath of office to see that the laws of the United States are faithfully upheld. He could (technically) be impeached for that, which you can bet, will not be missed by Trump.

Just add it to the long list of stuff he has done to earn removal from office and an orange jump suit. No one with the power to do so will do anything.

Sanctuary Cieties?
Makes a person wonder what dumbass liberal mindset came up with the concept of “Sanctuary Cities”? As if there was anything wrong with the LAWFUL PROCESS of LEGAL IMMIGRATION. Not to mention that I am sick and tired about ENGLISH not being the primary language. More often than not if and when you purchase something you actually have to search for an ENGLISH version of the instructions. If people are either too dumb or purposely shun the customary language of this English speaking country they shouldn’t be here in the first place.
A while back when Congress voted on making English the dominant language of this country, guess who voted against it, once again just about all liberals. And by the way, not that I have anything against Mexicans as I believe most of them are pretty nice and hardworking people. But I also believe in an orderly lawful process of integration and assimilation.
Let’s face it, time has proven that the American process has been working, contributing to the wellbeing and advancement of the human race. All of a sudden what is wrong and casting aside what has proven to be successful over the years? If it hadn’t been, humans wouldn’t beat a path to get in to the United States. At the same token it is DEMANDED, we the people of this host country, the USA should comply with the wishes and customs of the people who just ran away from where ever they originate to make a better life for themselves, may this be the Middle East, Mexico or any other South American country. Something just doesn’t compute, wouldn’t it make more sense to adapt something what has a proven track record and reject what doesn’t. But once again leave it to a liberal mindset, if something can be screwed up they’ll do it each and every time, and they do have a proven track record of doing just that.
