The amazing thing is the frequency of such things. Denny’s at 2AM means fight.
Is that ever true. Back then it was an unusual experience, eating bacon and eggs amid truck drivers and night shift folks on the outskirts of a sleeping city.
Now there is no way I would consider Denny's (or any other place) at 2 a.m. If I am on the road for some reason there will be no stopping.

There was one in our small town in the 70's - I don't know why the knee grows hate that book. It's about a kid from India, for cripes sake.

According to Wiki, there were over 1000 Sambos in 47 states.
The name came from the founders Sam Battistone, Sr. and Newell Bohnett
But Political Correctness in the NE destroyed the name in the 70's.
Only one left in Santa Barbara

I wish we could attach a numerical value to all of these societal ills. What numerical value would we attach to the ills of the old "whites only" signs, educational discrimination, forcing blacks to live in run down neighborhoods?
Then attach similar numerical values to whites getting murdered, raped and robbed by blacks. Reverse discrimination where qualified whites can't get jobs because of minority hiring quotas. Things like this.
Add the numbers up and I'd bet we're worse off, as a society, now, more so than in the 50s. Then again, I've never been much good at math.

Two completely different restaurant chains. In the late 1970s, the Sambo’s name was changed to “Family Sam’s” before disappearing from the scene.
