Trump slams Walker as governor leads in early voting Iowa

OSKALOOSA, Iowa (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump opened up a line of attack Saturday on Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, accusing the leader in recent polls in Iowa of running his neighboring state into financial trouble.

It's the latest broadside against a rival of the outspoken New York billionaire. Last week, Trump went after South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham for calling him a "jackass." The New York businessman has characterized other candidates as unfit for the office and said the party's 2008 nominee, Sen. John McCain, was not a war hero in spite of his years as a prisoner in Vietnam.

Spurred on by a raucous audience of more than 1,000 at a central Iowa high school, Trump said Walker has an advantage in Iowa because he's from a neighboring state but that the edge is undeserved because Walker has mismanaged Wisconsin's budget.

This is profound and will be lost in thread minutia...

FreeRepublic.com is the definitive historical record of the United States in these times.

As serious scholars look back, they will find twisted deceitful accounts of events from all other sources.

Here, they will find unvarnished truth.

I am wondering what Trump’s game plan is for Texas and Florida. Should be interesting.

I liked your post, I, too, find Trump to be a genuinely warm person, very likeable.

Walker promised during his campaign to repeal Common Core in Wisconsin. He has not kept that promise.

Actually, Walker denounced Trump for his comments on McCain. Then, Walker was asked to apologize for the comment made by his donor, or to denounce it. After several days, he still had not, so Trump let him have it.

Walker has done good work in Wisconsin.

He is however, a beggar for campaign funds like most of the others.

To get cash he will have to pledge his allegiance to the RNC.

If they give up on Prince Jeb, Walker is their Plan B.

Walker is now finished. This is Trump all the way and hillary is a criminal. I promise you that Trump will have her fat ass prosecuted “in a New York minute”. I will predict that Trump will win New York!! These other clowns aren’t going to make it to the 2nd Debate at Fox Aug 6th!! Watch the cheap sand bag that Fox throws at this giant. first, it will be laughed at and second it will surge additional support!! he now has 1 out of 3 republicans and it is going to 8 out of 10 very quickly. Watch his speech in Iowa and tell me that I am wrong.

From the American Propaganda article:

At the National Governors Association meeting in West Virginia, two Republicans gave Trump’s campaign little chance of succeeding.

“At the end of the day, I don’t think (Trump) will do very well in Iowa because Iowans like leaders who are humble and hardworking, and people who go to all parts of the state,” Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad said when asked about the reality TV star.

Oklahoma’s governor, Mary Fallin, said she didn’t think Trump would be the next president “because I think the people of our nation want to see someone who will be able to bring people together to get things done.”

Asked about Trump, North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory said: “You see some outspoken people who jump up in the polls, but then they also falter very quick. It’ll be interesting to see if that same dynamic occurs.”

First off, what the HELL is this "Early Voting" in IOWA BS?

Why not just make every day of the year Election day?.

Second, Iowans are NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF CONSERVATIVE AMERICA and have no business having any influence at all on who the GOP Candidate is.

The percentage of Black in Iowa is 2.9

Send all of the early voting Iowans to MEMPHIS for a months and they'll be drafting David Duke.

Trump needs to call Iowans LOSERS and FIRE them.

“Trump faulted Walker, popular for stripping public employees of many of their collective bargaining rights”

I watched the whole speech, but didn’t hear the bit about stripping collective bargaining rights. What I did hear is the teachers were having a hard time as there wasn’t sufficient funds for schools.

Walker supports Common Core (horrible program, two of the experts working on it, mathematics and English, refused to certify the standards they were so poor.) AND paid for his tax cut with debt, AND was caught on tape w/ fund raisers supporting ‘path to citizenship’. Walker may be a nice guy, and I certainly supported his recall efforts, but imo, he’s not ready for prime time. Far better for him to get WI turned around. What Trump didn’t mention is Walker scrapped the State Commerce Dept for something called WEDC(?) It’s not been a winner. Possible missing or poorly spent funds, and loss of 800M deal which hurt the state.

Lumping Walker in w/ Cruz as a ‘conservative’ doesn’t seem right.

“So begins a sort of quiet unraveling. Walker is popular. This isn’t necessary and isn’t going to help Trump.”

I’m so sick of you anti-Trump folks pouncing on Trump unilaterally while ignoring that which precipitates Trump attacking back. Aside from being unfair, it stinks. Trump attacks after being attacked. Period. Walker had plenty of time to make his guy’s Dumb Dumb comment right, and didn’t. I’m surprised at Walker’s silence. The more the MSM keeps up with their slanted news reports, the more popular Trump will become. As to this being the beginning of a quiet unraveling, in your dreams.

“I guess Trump removed himself from any list I had. Good They are self eliminating, that makes the decision easier.”

Funny that, I just removed Walker from any list I had. I guess we nullify each other’s lists, that’s if we have any, lol.

Read my posts and you’ll perhaps understand how completely you jump to a clearly incorrect mischaracterization of my position. And then please do both of us a favor and leave me out of your childishness. The whole idea of arguing with people who can make up their minds in a whole TEN DAY old campaign on a road that is sixteen months long isn’t something I’ll involve myself in. Have a good night.

Good grief, it’s the Primaries, not the general election. Don’t you know how our political system works yet?

I hate to clue you in again, but you have 7-8 months to make up your mind about who will be our Presidential candidate. The Primary elections begin in the Spring.

Exactly. I can understand when Trump goes after those like Jeb, Graham, McCain, and Perry for their personal insults to him but keep it real. No need to find reason to go after every single candidate just for the helluvit.

Now is the time to stay on point with the issues. Not the time to act like fighting dogs in a ring.

I’m glad Trump is in the race and bringing up important issues like immigration. It needs to be talked about and fixed; the sooner the better. I only give a Trump a 10% chance at being the nominee though. It will be Cruz or Walker. Either one would be fine by me at this point in time. A Walker/Fiorina or Cruz/Fiorina ticket would win IMHO.

Most importantly; I want someone who will do their best to reverse as much of the damage obozo has done as possible.
