Why Republicans Should Be Afraid to Debate Donald Trump
Yahoo ^ | Ken Tucker

Posted on 07/25/2015 6:50:41 PM PDT by Mariner

The first Republican debate takes place Aug. 6. The candidates are busy conducting mock debates, rehearsing ways to get their messages across, and studying their opponents for signs of weaknesses, preparing little zingers that will enable them to score points and distinguish them from the herd.

Silly candidates: They should be studying tapes of The Apprentice.

If they don’t, they may end up steamrolled by the chairman of Trump Organization. No one is going to be “fired” by Donald Trump on Aug. 6, but many will be singed — they will feel the flames of his forest-fire fury. “Do not try to match him in anger and aggressiveness,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich advised the GOP candidates in an interview with the Associated Press. “It’s not possible.”

Maybe the politicians will tone it down a bit when Trump starts uncovering some of these.

it would be best to gang up on him and take him out.

I guess they could stand in a circle around Trump and shout him down.

Politicians vs Trump? Good odds for a Trump win.

Key words and phrases for Trump, to be repeated often.

Cheap-Labor-Express

Lobbyists

All bought and paid for ... I am not!

Jeb Clinton.

Who agrees with me, a wall must be built?

Jobs Jobs Jobs (shouted loudly every 5 minutes).

Tariffs Tariffs Tariffs (shouted loudly every 5 minutes, just before Jobs Jobs Jobs).

I can’t wait to debate Hilliary!

Cruz has agreed to run as my VP, let’s get these other 14 rino bums outa here.

Every vote for me gets a free comb over.

Let’s stop wasting everyone’s time, I accept the Republican nomination right now ... now let’s go squash Hilliary!

Let’s make America great again.

Ted Cruz will be running defense for him against the likes of Jeb Bush and Rick Perry. Ted Cruz knows who the real enemy is, and it ain't Donald Trump.

They have been “ganging” up on Trump for a month
and his poll numbers have surged as a result.

I’m curious. You mentioned your parents and are lifelong democrats
but they would vote for Trump. Did they vote for Reagan? I’m wondering
if your parents might be that rare “Reagan Democrat”?

“That’s probably when we find out who really owns them. When the mask’s come off”

You are on to something. We will find out who the real “stalking horses”
are in the coming debate. And who they are stalking for.

For example, the ones with the lowest poll numbers and have no chance
of winning will be the most vocal against Trump and Cruz.

They will be the ones doing the dirty work for their masters.

You mean he will say... they funded Obamacare when they should have gone full on socialist with free universal care for all like he supports?

You DO know Donald was full on socialist universal healthcare like the bat shit crazy left of the Democratic party wants right?

The Republicans are afraid to debate both Trump and Cruz for the simple reason that they articulate what the base believes. The current crop of establishment candidates go against the wishes of the base and like Jeb want to issue top down directives to them on how it's going to be and for them to have to debate their positions will only expose them for the sell outs that they are.

Trump is a smart guy, but I wonder if his ego will prevent him from getting professional help in preparing for it (considering that he is the Smartest Guy In the Room And Everyone Else is an Idiot).

He mentions how he will get smart people into key places, and let them negotiate, without worrying about how (they) will do.

Would be nice to have ambassadors who get appointed due to merit, not donations.

You do not understand the first thing about difference between a government controlled program such as OBAMACARE
and a capitalist free market universalcare which would be cheaper than current forms of private healthcare and Obamacare.

Please bother to read my profile page. I have a starting list of 8 items which would actually reduce cost of healthcare for everybody. Please stop kneejerk reactions to the word “universal care” without understanding details. It looks shallow and bordering on hypocrisy.

I have no idea what you are talking about, Trump said flat out he is for single payer universal healthcare for all.

That is what the FAR left wanted, but had to settle for Obamacare.

Free Universal Healthcare is pure socialism.

You can lie and pretend otherwise, but that what Trump wants.

There is no such thing as a capitalist free market version of free universal healthcare for all.

NOTHING IS FREE.

Thus when someone says they think healthcare should be FREE, they are saying that the government will pay the bill. That is pure socialism.

There is NO capitalist system that provides FREE healthcare for all, you are dreaming.

Please show me where in my profile page I said “FREE” universal healthcare. Then we can have a honest dialogue.

I never was, and never will be for a government run healthcare system. I hate the 25%-40% waste & fraud in government run medicare and medicaid. I am on medicare, and I have a hard time finding good doctors because many do not accept new medicare patients.

But I will never tolerate any American citizen being unable to get medical treatment in a good hospital after suffering the type of pain episode I suffered, simply because he/she can not afford health insurance. I could never be such heartless person.
