HOUSTON, Texas — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, released the following statement in recognition of Tisha B’Av:
“To all those observing the mourning of Tisha B’Av, I wish you a time of meaningful reflection on the destruction of the holy Temples and the calamities that befell our Jewish brothers on this day. As our Jewish friends hope for the rebuilding of the Temple speedily in our days, I share their joy in the establishment of a Jewish State after 2,000 years of exile. Especially today, with stakes so high, we can never allow there to be a threat to Israel’s destruction. We must furiously fight the Iran deal that puts Israel in jeopardy so that we may never again mourn the destruction of the Jewish State.

I’m relatively certain that mainstream media’s commentary on this recognition will be derogatory in some fashion.
Even in light of Obama’s insistent adulation and recognition of every goat-screwing, camel-humping Islamic religious holiday or significant event (at the expense of even recognizing home-grown Islamic terrorism here at home).
True conservatives and Christians like Ted Cruz are the best friends in the world that Israel can rely on these days.
Uh, did you notice the deal with Iran? Bad things happen during the run-up to the 9th of Av, not just on that day.
I was expecting something more like Haifa becoming a larger self-illuminated port.
Ah well, now that the deal is in place, maybe next year in Jerusalem...
Cruz... “With stakes so high, we can never allow there to be a threat to Israels destruction. We must furiously fight the Iran deal that puts Israel in jeopardy so that we may never again mourn the destruction of the Jewish State......
Amen...his heart and mind is in the right place. Though we know down the road Israel will take a severe beating as the UN and other countries go against her....we’ve seen this already too many times over.
Thanks Isara.
You’re welcome!
He’s right on the money, all the time.
The fact that only Ted Cruz, a Christian Republican, cares enough about the fate of Israel to issue such a statement today speaks volumes about the state of America, the Democratic party, and Jewish Americans.
Bernie Sanders, a man of Jewish heritage and a leading contender for the Democratic presidential nomination, has been silent on all things affecting Israel, primarily the anti-Semitism repeatedly expressed by the leader of his party, Barack Obama, particularly his attacks on Israel’s prime minister and his championing of Iran, Israel’s mortal enemy, as a nuclear power.
Then there’s another leading figure of Jewish heritage, John Kerry, whose major focus as Secretary of State has been attacking Israel and signing a treaty allowing Iran to develop nuclear weapons.
Soon we will see how many Jewish-American Senators, from Chuck Schumer to Al Franken to Dianne Feinstein, and also including Richard Blumenthal, Brian Schatz, Ron Wyden, Michael Bennet, Barbara Boxer, and Bernie Sanders, will be eager to stab their Jewish brothers and sisters in Israel in the back by approving the pro-Iranian treaty when it comes up for a vote in Congress — a treaty that is so contrary to both U.S. and Israeli interests and so in favor of the interests of their enemy Iran, that approving it will mean giving aid and comfort to the enemy, also known as committing treason.
It will be interesting to see which Senators, Jewish and otherwise, will be despicable enough to commit such a crime.
My point is, one does not support and protect that with which one does not identify. And these JINOS have no identification with that which might make them stick out or be perceived as different. They are cowards and worse.
right after they google Tisha B’Av and figure out what it is. I doubt any of them know. Good on Cruz for knowing and recognizing this day of mourning.
