MSNBC host and NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Andrea Mitchell stated that when she spoke to intelligence officials at a security conference, nobody can give an explanation for why a cabinet secretary would have a private email system other than to thwart inquiries, FOIAs on Mondays broadcast of MSNBCs Morning Joe.
Mitchell said that its possible that the impact of Clintons emails on her campaign has been underestimated. She continued, Look, you have two inspectors general, and they are referring to this to the Justice Department. Now, you can try to confuse it, and theres been a lot of misdirection. Theres been inaccurate reporting significantly, on Thursday night by the New York Times, its not a criminal referral, not at this stage. It could become, and it could become nothing. But, what they are suggesting is that there were classified four out of the 40 randomly selected, had classified information, and it was not information that was later upgraded to be classified. It was information that was classified as secret, which is a level of classification, at the time. This gets very confusing. And it can be confused further by statements on all sides. That said, the original sin, if you will, is having a private email system.
Mitchell added, I was at a security conference speaking to intelligence officials on all sides, and the attorney general, well talk about that later. But nobody can give an explanation for why a cabinet secretary would have a private email system other than to thwart inquiries, FOIAs, and

Exactly. When you lose a blathering partisan like Mitchell, you have a problem.
The washed up old hag knew that she was breaking the law, but considered herself above the law, and knew that the media would protect her sorry ample a$$.
It’s almost like the Devil telling you’re a bad person.
All of Hillary’s problems are manifestations of her paranoid personality.
"I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president." Hillary Clinton
Yep. Same people who are still scratching their heads over Chattanooga.
Here’s a point that needs to be driven home. I heard this from a person in the know, on Hannity’s radio show a few weeks ago. He said that every country you go into, they have people who are able to hack into your private electronic devices. He said, “You can rest assured that the Russians and the Chinese have the info that was on her personal server when she entered those countries.”
What a dumb b**ch she is.
For the ‘world’s smartest woman’ to figure she could get away with the two criminal acts is astounding. First to have her private email outside of prying eyes, then second, to wipe her server. Any pretense of VRWC or her innocence is loooooong gone. Her team can’t spin it no matter how hard they try.
Those two acts showed not only she’s sure she’s outside the laws, but compliant media lapdogs will follow her to her coronation.
Tip of the iceberg we find ourselves at present day.
“Interesting that this is on MSNBCI wonder if the Party word is to prepare the way for a Hillary alternative.”
Nope. They want this done with so they can go with the “old news” meme.
he was trying to hide her influence peddling.
Interesting that this is on MSNBCI wonder if the Party word is to prepare the way for a Hillary alternative.
It’s interesting to see the liberals in the media asking these questions of Hillary and her actions.
A couple of months ago, Carville was on one of the talking head shows, and hissed in his inimitable way about media bias against Hillary. But he fails to see that the New York Times, Washington Post, MSNBC and all the alphabet networks, have been pushing the Hillary e-mail story.
And the story stays alive, drip drip drip, every so often, new more damaging allegations keep coming out.
That was my first thought as well. I had to go back and make sure I didn't misread.
YOU may "openly wonder" about it, but not the former acting director of the CIA, Mike Morrell. He said on the radio a few weeks ago that Chinese, Russian, Iranian and/or other foreign hacking of Hilary's server was a virtual certainty. No "wonder" in his mind -- neither "open" nor otherwise.
It is interesting that this came from democrat/communist cheerleader Andrea Mitchell. But it was actually fun to read her comments; poor Andrea is tying herself in knots, still trying to obfuscate the issue and cover for Hillary, but she just can’t square it with the stark reality that Hillary Clinton is a criminal.
I guess every minion at one time or another comes to that soul searching introspection and feelings of loyalty, disbelief, diversion and final realization that their master is the Devil.
Morrell was trying to provide cover for Benghazi.
You can’t plan an attack against a particular person on a particular day at a particular location unless someone guarantees they will be in that particular location on that particular day.
There is only 2 people on the face of the planet that could guarantee Stevens would be in Benghazi on that particular day, Obama and Hillary.
Morrell wants people to believe the terrorist learned about Stevens being in Benghazi on that particular day from Hillary’s hacked server.
18 U.S. Code § 1924 - Unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or material

And there's this, too: Obama Administration Restricts Investigative Powers Of Inspectors General
to add to the mix.
18USC793 would likely be the applicable statute as 18USC798 only apples to cryptographic information (Codes, Ciphers, COMINT (Communications Intelligence etc.)
Look, if Chinese hackers can penetrate the servers of the Federal Office of Personnel Management, how easy was it to compromise Hillary Clinton’s private email server?
