A Navy officer and Marine reportedly returned fire at the shooter who killed five service members in Chattanooga, Tenn., even though current policy does not permit military members to carry firearms on facilities such as those where the attack occurred.
Mohammod Abdulazeez was slain last Thursday after allegedly firing dozens of shots at two separate military facilities, including the Navy Operational Support Center in Chattanooga. The cold-blooded assault killed four Marines and one active-duty Navy reservist.
The center’s commanding officer, Lt. Cmdr. Timothy White, used his personal firearm to engage the shooter during the attack, according to sources quoted in the Navy Times. A report from The Washington Post said that one of the Marines killed in the shooting might have been carrying a 9 mm Glock and possibly returned fire on Abdulazeez. The Navy officer could face disciplinary action for violating policy about possessing a weapon on the facility that was supposed a gun-free zone. The investigation into the attack is ongoing, and authorities will not know if White or the Marine hit Abdulazeez until an autopsy and a ballistics report have been completed. The recruiting center, the other building at which the gunman fired, was reopened Monday….

While he may have technically violated regulations, are we really going to punish this guy who used his own gun to fight back against the Jihadist attack?? We would really do that???
I just returned from Chattanooga and the general feeling is grief and anger!......heavy, unfiltered grief and anger!
IF the military gets away with charging this brave soul, there will be an outpour of anger you won ‘t believe!

Who's "we" kemosabe? This country has two wholly different peoples living within one set of borders. The people represented by the government share little in common with you and I except geography.
How could they squash it? The local police, who has jurisdiction, wouldn’t see what happened?

You don't even recognize that God has put you in place through His will for such a day as this. Go ahead, we are sitting on the edge of our seats waiting to see if you have the courage to prosecute that officer for firing on the muslim terrorist who was bent on killing even more servicemen.
There should be little to no reaction to your decision to do so. So many Americans really don't care about those mens' lives anyway and want to show the proper respect for muslims. Do it.

It’s either a hoax, and if not a hoax, you fellas in charge at the Pentagon don’t have the backbone to prosecute the guy. Do it just to show the American people YOU are in charge.

I call 'bullshiite' on this. This happened weeks ago.
They have known all of this information for weeks but are for some reason completely withholding the information. They likely had it all within the first 48 hours.
Why are we not getting any of the information on the final attack and ultimate shooting of the Jihadist? The entire episode at the Naval installation has been completely dropped into an informational black hole. All we see are (and now only sporadically) are bullet holes in the Recruiting Station doors where nobody was killed.
Why the information blackout?
This happened in a civilian jusirdiction. Do civilian police not know how to understand evidence at a crime scene?
