'Medical Meltdown:' Obamacare Ushers in Doctor Shortages "[T]he medical care you’ve enjoyed in
Truth Revolt ^ | 8/3/15 | Trey Sanchez

This past weekend, one hundred medical professionals met in California for the 33rd Doctors for Disaster Preparedness meeting and they all warned that healthcare as we have known it is over, thanks to increasing federal regulations and taxes. And as Obamacare rolls across the land, it is leaving in its wake a shortage of doctors and surgeons.

According to a Breitbart report, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Lee Hieb told the conference, "What do I mean by medical meltdown? Well, sadly, I’m here to tell you that the medical care you’ve enjoyed in the past in your life is simply not going to be there in the future.”

Here's why:

We have so much regulation that almost no medical care gets out. We have over 160,000 pages of Medicare regulation and counting. Obamacare is Medicare on steroids.

Hieb explained that the shortage of doctors is stemming from "the great gurus of government" deciding that specialists were getting too big a piece of pie and so they put limitations on the profession. She added that the number of new general surgeons the U.S. receives each year (350) doesn't even reach replacement rate of those surgeons leaving the business. High tax rates and poor training are also to blame for the decrease, according to Hieb.

The EXEMPT in the “US” Congress, and in the White
Mosque, and in SCOTUS, will continue
their Kennedy-level Gold-star Healthcare with
helicopter rides to the FINEST hospitals.

They belong in prison for what they have done,
passing Laws they did not need to read,
because it did not effect THEM.

My primary care doctor seems to have expanded greatly - installing all kinds of patient internet portals as required by Obamacare or our NY exchange - which no one uses.

Even the deluxe treatment won’t forever stave off the harmful effects on them of a general slowing in medical progress. The US was a market large enough to encourage business ventures in medical progress. That is was, as in past tense.

And being so rarely used they are also prone to being ignored when a patient actually does come in via the web.

To correct the problem, a few things are required.

1) Get government out of healthcare entirely. Care for the indigent poor may be paid in block grants to the states, but how the states choose to spend this money is up to them. If states choose to not provide healthcare for indigent illegal aliens.

2) Limit insurance to just serious medical, long term care and catastrophic insurance. Not routine medical care insurance. If people want routine medical care, they may choose to go to a subscription HMO, or to get concierge medicine. Most young people in good health will likely choose ala carte and urgent medical care.

3) Completely privatize HIPAA and HITECH. The medical records of private individuals are *not* for government storage, maintenance, or review. This also involves the resurrection of the “doctor-patient privilege”, so that medical and dental records can only be obtained by a court order.

King Obama successfully destroyed American health care. He keeps giving shi! and the ignorant still support him. Look at the communists Democrats in the Senate and that tells all. And that includes the few RINOs. The Republican party has a real problem with communists over the last few years.

Well it shouldn’t have come as surprise, what else did you expect from that bright shining socialistic inspired mind in the white hut that is hell bent on taking this country down. Obozocare never had anything to do with a compassionate government as its primary purpose was and still is population control, and pushing this monstrosity through was facilitated by a politically ignorant and dumb constituency, with many believing the lies they have been told and swallowed them hook line and sinker. The best advice for now and probably in the long run is to take the recommendation in the preceding paragraph to heart. Learn as much as you can and study up on what it takes to stay and remain healthy as he alternative may cost you an arm and a leg. We used to have one of the worlds best healthcare systems, until some clown decided, lets try some socialized medicine.

You and the article have it half right. Obamacare and the changes it forced and/or accelerated in how doctors are compensated has accelerated the departure of experienced doctors from the profession. There is a second part to the upcoming lack of doctors, in the 1980s med schools reduced the number of students they were training for reasons that made sense at that time. Unfortunately there are a significant percentage of doctors who will turn 65 in the next ten years, and expanding med schools to train their replacements will take at least 2 years and more likely 6 to see the increased number of graduates without severely compromising quality.

Disagree with #2: Let the insurance companies offer what they want to offer, and let the consumers choose what they want to buy. You know, that free market thing...
