NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police have confirmed the death of the suspect in an active shooter situation in Antioch at a movie theater. They released his identity Wednesday night.
Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Vincente David Montano, of Nashville.
Authorities said Montano was arrested in Murfreesboro in 2004 for assault and resisting arrest.
Officials said Montano was known to have psychiatric issues, and he had allegedly been committed four times, twice in 2004 to TriStar Centennial Parthenon Pavilion Mental Health Clinic in Nashville and twice in 2007 to a different facility.

Drifting the topic a bit, it's stunning to see just how far south the bulk of America (the United States) is compared to most of Europe. Looking at a map using Mercator projection (which the oh-so-PC left deems racist, of course), much of populated Northern Europe would be in the Great White North of Canada. Bunch of hosers those Euros are! :)
You have a point there. It’s certainly not very conservative to carry a hatchet and a pellet pistol into a movie theater. My guess is that he was one of the poorest of Americans—the insane kind. We should build asylums again and treat the severely mentally ill folks right.
For so many who know it runs in their families, that phrase is even more relevant.
I do wish one of the candidates would pick up the message. But also know it truly is a state/ local issue.
In contrast, it's hot, HOT, H-O-T here in Texas. We had an unusually wet and mild spring but once June 21st hit, the faucet was shut off and the oven turned up to the max. For much of the spring, I had to cut the grass every 5 days or so because it was growing to fast but now it looks like straw and I haven't touched the lawnmower for over two weeks.
But this is Texas -- a state of extremes when it comes to weather and moderation is a dirty word in more respects than just the meteorological sphere. Just ask David Derhurst about that! :)
No argument from me. Those I've run across over the years were harmless enough but their behavior could be startling at times. Never knew what to expect.
We can carry in public places in TN though private businesses can ban guns from their establishments. I don't know if that theater was a gun-free zone or not.
I'm fortunate to live in a rural area and we don't have much trouble with road rage and such. If I still lived in a large city, I'd probably be a little uncomfortable on the roads these days. Things seem to be getting wilder and wilder as time goes on.
I can see where burnout would be a problem. Not exactly the most pleasant line of work. High-stress too. No matter how much one wants to help others, there are limits.
If the Republic lasts until January 2017 and hussien hasn't yet established a caliphate or dictatorship, the rebellion (as Boss JimRob phrases it) will reach a crescendo. New Conservative leadership will arise, be it spearheaded by Palin, Cruz or Trump, and take our country BACK! Although it won't happen instantly, that "wildness" to which you refer will recede and the dawning of another Reagan era of domestic tranquility will be at home. Let us pray fervently for the restoration of the Republic built on the Christian (and Jewish) principles set forth by the Founders. Amen!

My step-niece is like that. I monitor her Facebook page just to see if she is complying with her drug regimen. It’s pretty easy to tell from her posts if she is taking her drugs. Over the course of a few days, her posts get incoherent. I remind her to start taking her meds, and she sometimes does.
The de-institution craze was one of those wizard ideas that was good on paper and not so great in the real world. Politicians jumped on that bandwagon because they thought it would save money.
What it’s done is put a number of people out on the street who can’t be counted on to take the medicine that they need. And depending on what their problem is they may be a danger to others. There’s a place for institutionalizing people who need to be taking powerful psychiatric medication. Not all of them, but certainly some of them.
Something I pray for every day.
Good plan. One mother I knew would meet son at Hardies for breakfast. She would take her BP med while son took his medicine —Worked for years until she passed. Then the yo yoing began which eventually led to his suicide. LEsson: make sure another member of family is also part of that support group

The folks who think crazy folks can’t plan anything (that the planning proves that they are sane) really need to get up close and personal with a crazy person to understand the error of their thinking.

I’d like to know his immigration status and history. Was he legal/illegal? Was he an anchor baby? I didn’t see any info on that in the article.
