Carly Fiorina Eviscerates Ghost of Trump, Wins Fox News JV Presidential Debate

Its decided. The internet has spoken. Carly Fiorina won the Fox News "kids table" debate in a landslide. "I have to say I was most impressed by Carly Fiorina," said Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace shortly after the debate concluded. Wallace's opinion was seemingly shared by the majority media figures on Twitter (including Reason staffers).

...

While Fiorina certainly didn't go overboard on specific policies she would like to implement, her rhetorical hold over the debate was masterful. She never stumbled, lost her train of thought, or gave a clunky answer. And her swipe at Donald Trump - who donated to Hillary Clinton and takes phone calls from Bill Clinton - was one of the most gratifying moments of the debate.

As reported on many news sources, both left and right:

At one point, Trump reiterated what, for any other candidate, would be a radioactive statement. He liked a nationalized single-payer health care system, at least as it worked in other countries.

With that in mind, now some quotes from Fiorina:

Carly Fiorina: "I didn't get a call from Bill Clinton before the campaign. Maybe it was because I hadn't given money to his foundation or donated to his wife's Senate campaign." This was in reference to a phone call reported on Wednesday. In this phone call, Trump encouraged Trump to get more involved in GOP politics. Perhaps Trump is a mover and a shaker on the issue of illegal immigration and Bill Clinton moved and shaked Trump when it came to getting more involved in GOP politics.

Carly Fiorina, the only non-politician in the first debate: "Since he [Trump] has changed his mind on amnesty, on health care, and on abortion, I would just ask, what are the principles on which he will govern?"

Carly hit out of the park last night.

I doubt that she will be sitting at the kiddie table anymore.

I have been watching and wondering when she was going to shine.

I like Carson, but I also like her as a very good prospect for VP with Cruz/Fiorina on the GOP ticket.

I imagine that she will be moving up to the main debate next time around, probably replacing Chris Christie, who may never get past his hugging fest, “bromance” with Obama, fawning over him when he touched down in his state, and uber-low popularity in his NJ.

iCarly doesn't have a leg to stand on when she tries to tarnish Trump with association with the Clintons.

Thats her with Bill Clinton at a 2014 Clinton Foundation event.

She takes part in them with Hillary, Chelsea and Bill as part of the Clinton Global Initiate.

While she may have scored some points with those who aren’t familiar with her background, she could look in the mirror and ask herself the same questions. Or maybe she, too, has evolved???? At least Trump is honest about his previous viewpoints - she is hiding hers and acting all Miss Conservative now.

In my mind, Carly won BOTH debates last night - she out-performed all the men in the 2nd “debate” in every aspect.

I can’t wait to see her on the same stage as the others. I think she will outshine all of them including Trump. And she’ll certainly have some Carson-esque zingers for him.

I’m a big Cruz fan, but actually think Carly might be the best president of the whole lot because of her real-world executive experience - more than any of the governors including Perry. HP revenues may be slightly less that the Texas state budget, but she has managed a business, not a government, and would thus bring more practical management wisdom to the POTUS seat.

I think she is “Thatcher-esque”.........

Carson is likable but I don’t think he has what it takes to sit in the big office. Better that he be an advisor in the Cruz/Fiorina administration.

Bromance boy and Rand Paul eliminated each other. Both behaved like idiots. And any governor of New Jersey stupid enough to be seen in the Dallas Cowboys owners box hugging Jerry Jones, and going into the Cowboys lockerroom to celebrate their victories belongs under a bridge.

I don’t care for Jeb, Rubio, Huckabee and Christie

My personal favorite is still Cruz, with Carson and Fiorina tied for second, Walker for fourth, Paul for fifth, Christie next, Kasich after that, and then Trump.

Not saying she will win the GOP presidential nomination.

I agree her chances are squat.

But that doesn’t change the fact that she really stood out last night.

Trump supporters need to start paying attention. Trump would raise taxes by a lot. He is also not a friend of the free-market, he is the kind of guy who thinks government should pick winners and losers.

Trump is a HUGE fan of Bill Clinton, it’s his favorite President

Oh yeah, Carly sure hit it out of the park. How PC of the MSM, the Dems, and the GOPe to be championing their newfound alleged winner of the first debate. Must have a woman in the mix, you know, whether she will get anywhere or not. If there is a Hillary, there must be a Carly on the other side to offset the female quotient. One has to be politically correct, you know.

And if she slammed in her losers’ debate that old Mysogynist Trump (as per Megyn Kelly) to boot, why that just gets her even more points amongst all of our enemies that are now touting Carly (again, the MSM, Dems, and GOPe, just so you all know who backs her now) why all the more power to her, right? You should have heard her on the evil channel this morning (PMSNBC) slamming Trump some more. Carly is now written off, in my book, for consorting with the enemy.
