Savage lambasted Megan Kelly for her lead question to Don Trump; his "documented quotes" about women.. "it's now clear... that she's gone over to the dark side... her new stance is even changing her looks... It's as clear as a bell that 'Mayhem Kelly' has gone over to the dark side, and frankly her looks are changing."

Salvage, you lovable nut, Portrait of Dorian Gray absorbs and reflects the corruption of Dorian's soul. His outward appearance retains the freshness and idealism of youth. Even as the years pass and his moral disintegration, reflect horror in portrait. Rab doesn't think Kelly has gone to the Dork Side. Frankly her looks aren't changing, still looks foxy. Meg is ok and usually good or very good. Tried to play squash with a guy that prefers pinball.

Yes to Meg, yes to the Donny, down with GOB "Republicans" & Hildabitch "Democratics"

R.

An excellent recap on the Dorian concept is @ http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1367311/posts by Freep mft112345

My screed is of the moment, mft's is of the ages, thanks.

Among the most vocal critics of Trump’s remarks, according to several people involved in the discussions, were two conservative media rising-stars, Townhall’s Katie Pavlich and HotAir’s Mary Katharine Ham, both Fox News contributors and employees of RedState’s sister sites. Over texts and emails, they helped organize a push to disinvite Trump from the RedState Gathering, telling their colleagues they didn’t want to be on a stage that also welcomed him. Erickson said he was already inclined to disinvite Trump once he saw the video, but he credited his female colleagues with influencing his decision.

Now that you mention it - there wasn’t one question about Cuba, and I don’t remember anything about the Iran deal. But, by golly, we had to hear about a twitter war Trump ahd with Rosie and who would or wouldn’t support the eventual nominee. Or how about a gotcha question to Scott Walker about killing a mother or a baby? What place does this crap have when our country is going to he** in a hand basket? Mark Levin was right - it was tabloid tv. I did like Mike Huckabee’s answer on Planned Parenthood, by the way.

Thank you for the mention. Its seems to me the person meeting out judgment, should first determine if an infraction was made.

There was no infraction here, so uninviting Trump was uncalled for. Inviting the person who tried to snag him with that irrelevant question is nothing if not fraternizing with the enemy.

Why do we not reward someone acting in the manner Megan Kelly did here?

As a Conservative you don’t want to reinforce improper behavior. You don’t want it to happen more often. Let it blow up in her face. She won’t do it again.

Now Kelly is free to pull a similar stunt on Cruz.

Not only does Kelly have the blessing of FauxNews, but a wink and a nod approval of the broader Leftist media in the nation. On top of that, she has a wink and a nod approval from some folks here.

The Democrats think it’s hoot. The Republican party is happy to have it’s pound of flesh. The supporters of people the media isn’t trashing, think Trump deserves it too, because he doesn’t deserve support anyway.

It sill hasn’t dawned on the people who think Trump doesn’t deserve support, that their view is not shared by the Left. The Left is deathly afraid of him. Why? If he’s a Leftist, they should want him. They don’t.

We have a situation right now where a guy is promoting our views across the nation, and every Leftist group in the nation as well has the Republican party is trying to destroy him.

Yep, that’s right, the GOPe that we all say we are disgusted with, more than a few FReepers are acting as foot-souldiers for.

Only a fool would fail to realize, if a big vulgar lie can be used to Bring Trump down, a second can be used to take Cruz down. The very same entities who are striving to take Trump down, hate Cruz. He’s a Tea Party favorite. He’s one of those Tea Party Terrorists.

I’m a man who will defend someone I don’t support if I think they are being treated unfairly. Trump should have the troops rallying around him right now, because he’s the victim of a vicious vulgar lie.

The people we say we despise are trying to destroy him. Where is our sense of fair play?

When these entities come after Cruz, and they most certainly will, I’ll be there to defend him.

As bad as Cruz supporters think I am because I support Trump, I’ll have the decency not to side with the Left as they are now.

Cruz could do with a better caliber of supporter. Actual Conservatives would be nice.

Only Leftist would behave the way some of his supporters are.

Well she did make that “word of God” wisecrack to Cruz on the Faux Debate.

And Cruz answered it with class, and God smiled. But nobody is remembering that. They are remembering the quack-quack-quack of Donald Duck. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Thank for your mention of the debate dynamics. I still haven’t seen it. I’m cleaning up a text version right now.

I’ll look for some of the things you mentioned.

Back when Trump was going back and forth with Rosie, it didn’t interest me at all. That kind of stuff is beneath me.

I wouldn’t get involved with someone like Rosie. Ms. O’Donnell is free to think anything she wants about me. I won’t let it bother me one way or the other.” The end.

Why would I want to hear about the Trump Rosie row now?

Megan had to be appealing to the Left, because people on the right have no interest in that stuff.

I do think people are still afraid of Trump becoming a loose cannon later. Or, his ride on this rocket ship is still new and we do not know if the future booster rockets will fire as well. He brings enthusiasm and passion. Conviction of just what, is a more open question.

People should be furious with Megan Kelly, because this is exactly what she wanted to happen.

A two year old spat? She knew nobody cared about that. She used it to goad Trump. And Trump handled it decently.

In an interview later he made the comment. It wasn’t at the debate, but Kelly’s question was so disruptive that you’re right. Cruz probably was affected.

Whose fault was that?

If Kelly had asked one of the 50 questions I jotted down in about five minutes, Trump could have answered and several others too.

This conversation should be addressing Kelly. We’re really screwing up by lamenting Trumps presence. Trump did not cause this.

It’s Kelly’s presence we could and should have done without.

But his ideas deserve to be listened to. It’s like what America cares about is being visibly displayed on a neon sign. For other politicians not to care should be nails in their political coffins.

I’m lamenting the fact that Cruz got almost forgotten in the kerfuffle.

Donald is himself not shy about controversy. He’ll weather it okay.

Sure it is, but then ultimately that’s what this season is for. We learn more about all of them.

Will the boosters fire? I have no idea.

Will his core views pan out decent? I don’t know. It’s not going to hurt us to listen. If he can destroy a bit of the media in the process, good for him.

If folks would focus on Kelly here, we’d have a lot more chance of getting her canned or demoted. This is an opportunity, and we’re tossing it to criticize a guy falsely accused.

Or... what Megyn (not Megan) got told to do.

One clear thing. Donald does not fit anyone’s predefined category very well.

Exactly right.

As a collective group when one of these guys is attacked or asked gotcha questions, others should jump in and defend them.

When Trump was asked that O’Donnell question one of the other guys should have interrupted and chewed Kelly’s out for it.

That would have stopped that nonsense right there.

“What the heck are you doing. This is a serious discussion of issues and you can’t think of anything better to ask about than a two year old spat that wasn’t important even then?”

“Either ask some policy question now, or turn the mic over to someone who will.”

Just lay her out cold!

I don’t disagree with that. I think you’re right about Trump. I’m thinking more in terms of the debates to come and the treatment of all of them.

I defend Trump here more out of outrage at Kelly than defense of Trump. If it weren’t for the vulgar lie, I wouldn’t be addressing Trump much at all. I would solely address Kelly.

The repeated presupposition seems to be that we are interviewing candidates for the position of King, and anyone speaking well of Trump is accused of wanting a bad (unconservative) King.

If that is our attitude, we’ve already lost. What ever happened to “no king but Jesus”?

There is a passage in the gospels where people were ready to forcibly make Jesus the king. A more deserving Person could hardly be imagined, but He declined. Seems logical to me, because He knew that any King that was set up by the people, would be a stupid idol, the medium of their projected imaginations. He wouldn’t be getting the worship due Him as the King to be established by the Father and then, as such, accepted by the people. He’d be used as a figurehead for people’s prides.

No, I agree with that.

What I will say, is that list of 50 questions, that’s what serious folks want to hear about. Those are important things that we are facing now or in the near future.

Where do these guys stand on them. We need to know.

Imagine her thinking we need to know about Rosie O’Donnell.

It defies a sensible explanation, other than that Kelly is just a child.

No, He was not of this world, in the political sense.

His mandate was much grander.

You know, I think back to the Judges and Kings. Wehn the children of Israel petitioned God for a king and He relented.

I have a hard time understanding a concept where there isn’t a leader. I see the King as a natural leader. What were they supposed to do, only listen to the Priests?

She sounds like she had found her own comfort in the “political correct” thing.

Is it good for Donald to talk like that about people (let alone women), I’d say no. But is it understandable in context, I’d say very much yes. The problem is not that we are striving for purity, but it’s a hypocritical purity where we nod, wink at something else while wagging our finger.

Our standards need to be tied to actually caring about what God cares about, because God cares about it and we know that if God cares, it’s good. If they are, we are likely to give a figure like Donald Trump a far more sympathetic hearing because we see the bigger picture.
