Unless I am overreacting, I think Hillary is now in the fight to stay out of prison. I even saw Andrea Mitchell this morning....she looked shell shocked. She said this is a very big deal. And, yes,....I did not see any on MSNBC vociferously defending except Dean. But as he spoke he had an “I ate the canary” look on his face. He was trying to convince the others, and they were not biting....even Mika Brudzinski. She was very down in the mouth. DU, likewise, was sober about it. They are usually pretty rowdy over there.......Most were sober and some despondent...saying Go BERNIE Go.....as if in gest.
Petraeus was convicted and fined for a lot less. The reporter at least had the clearance to see the documents. Huma and Blumenthal. Neither had a TS SBI TK1 but they may have seen the material now.

I was in the Army Security Agency in the US Army. I observed NCO’s and Officers lose their clearances because of marital affairs, a DUI, a fight, etc. I took my clearance seriously. I had a TS/SBI/TK1. It would have been a cold day in hell that I would have let anyone without a clearance see one of those documents. Because I would have been court-martialed and sent to Leavenworth. And, because I gave my word of honor. And I signed documents as my testimony. I guess people like Hillary could care less about honesty, integrity, and accountability.
For FReepers unfamiliar with how classification works, it's always possible for anyone with a clearance to determine whether something you're reading or writing is classified and to what level and caveat. Classified guidelines are written stating very clearly that association of this weapon with that country has this level of classification, etc. The guidance is clear and easy to understand, and if you have any questions, there are security officers who can answer them.

Thanks American Quilter. And yes, any infraction of security would have been dealt with harshly and swiftly. Which is why I am confused about this one. This had been dragging out now for 3 years with no solution, conviction or closure. Has our Justice Department been so badly crippled that it can no longer carry out the letter of the law? Are they too afraid of the Clintons that they cannot fulfill their sworn duties?
On the political boards on other sites, specifically Craigslist, the Democrat Hillary supporters are using the “She didn’t know it was classified so she should be forgiven” defense. Pretty sad at best. If she didn’t know they were classified, she should never hold any office of authority again. Another one is, They were secured in her server because “they had Secret Service protecting her home.” Hackers don’t care who is guarding the house, LOL. The final funny one they are using is, “She gave up 55K pages”. Ah, she should have just handed over the server before she left the State Department and let the Feds decide what was classified and what wasn’t. That is how every state department employ is treated. And didn’t she fire an individual for using their personal e-mail account for sending state department information? Yeah. Wow. If this were you or I, we’d be in jail pending investigation. According to the constitution, there should be no law that offers preferential treatment to members of congress and the state department on criminal behavior.

I’m really starting to think that the only reason she ran for President was to give herself enough political cover to avoid jail time. My thinking is this: she runs so that when this comes out, people who would be in charge of arresting her would think “there’s no way we can arrest her; she’s running for president for goodness sakes”.
So she quietly yet happily takes all the hits in the polls and fades into obscurity, happy with her (foundation’s) millions, and meanwhile someone like Uncle Joe or Fauxcahantas takes the mantle sometime around October or November. And they cruise to victory. In her mind of course.
Otherwise I have no idea what she could have been thinking running for president knowing this would come out.

Heck when I was active I had my rights read to me 3 times for mistakes other people made with this stuff.
