-snip-

“Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body. I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare. A more complete public statement will be made when facts are known, possibly next week.”

He was a lousy president—but I always thought he was a nice man.

Maybe not the brightest bulb in the box—but compared to what we have now, I’d take Carter back any day—LOL! Maybe even Richard Nixon-——

My friend’s dad passed away last year from pancreatic cancer. He told me that chemo just made his dad’s life “a little bit longer and a whole lot more miserable”.

Sounds like it metastasized out of the liver.

Once that happens, well, it won’t be long.

Jimmy Carter is a deceptively bad man.

His favorite world leaders are Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, the Ayatollah’s of Iran...

When the Shah of Iran had cancer, Jimmy Carter refused him access to physicians and medical services in the United States.

I would only hope Carter gets the same degree of support.

I will give deference to advancing senility. Old people say and do crazy things. Some day I will be drooling on myself in the home, accusing the staff of stealing my World’s Fair Spoon.

Happens to us all.

Totally agree. Carter was basically completely ineffective.

LBJ and Baraq advanced the “progressive” agenda in a huge manner.

Well, apparently not.

Liver cancer is not a good way to go.

Don’t like the guy. But I don’t want him to suffer.

Ditto.

I don’t agree with his political stands but I would not wish this illness on him or anyone else. I hope he is able to recover, but he is very fortunate at 90 years old to have been president of the US. They will do all they can to help him. Not having his notoriety, anyone else receiving this diagnosis would have been given contact information to area hospices, their death panel counseling and sent on their way.

Have to admit I admire his work with Habitat for Humanity.
That organization has some good ideas for the homeless. Float them zero-interest mortgages, require that they participate in the rehab and take classes on how to maintain the property. Give them a much better shot at success.

For sure Carter did more manual labor in a couple of weekends than Obama has done in his entire life.

Qui! Le Mien Aussi (My mouth is completely closed too!).
Certain Central American Communist leaders are wondering who will take his place, coming down to verify their (pre-written) voting ballots.

Well Obama will need something to do for the next 30, 40 years.

I don’t like LBJ either, but the problems we are dealing with today in the Middle-East, are the direct result of Carter’s chess moves in the 1970s.

Iran will get nuclear weapons and be the enemy of the Free World thanks to James Earl Carter.

The Shah of Iran and his family never would have sought nuclear weapons being friendly with the West.

Most folks don’t remember when North Korea was developing nuclear weapons. The press was reporting that Clinton was about to get tough with military action. Carter, announced he was going to North Korea, and left the U. S. en route without sanction from Clinton.

Jimmy Carter interceded and North Korea was a allowed to develop nuclear weapons.

James Earl Carter, the gift that keeps on giving.

Yeah, after everything that has been done to this country and its people in the name of the progressivism represented by this man its hard for me to gin up much sympathy.

Lord, help me be more like you.
