I don’t think Trump would pick a conservative. He wants to win so I think he’d play the moderate card to appeal to all those moderate voters.
Just my sense, no hard evidence but I can’t see him risking a win at that point by picking a possibly polarizing VP.
One thing to think about is Ross Perot and the VP he pulled out of his hat or wherever. Bad situation that far down the road.
I agree. He also has to play with GOPe in Congress to get anything passed unless he intends to be another Zero and rule by executive fiat.
Carson revealed the other night that he has been friends with Trump for quite some time.
Doctor Benjamin Carson as Vice President
Department of State , (Return INS.) John Bolton
Department of Justice - Trey Gowdy
Department of Treasury Steve Forbes
Department of War, (change the name back, include VA function.) - LTC. West
Department of Interior, (includes former Agriculture, Transportation, HHS CBP, and Energy legitimate functions) Gov. Palin
Department of Labor and Commerce ELIMINATE
Department of Health and Human Services - ELIMINATE
Department of Homeland Security ELIMINATE
Department of Education - ELIMINATE
Department of Housing and Urban Development ELIMINATE
Yes, it is important who is chosen, but the decision will be made next summer by the party nominee. All the suggestions at this point don’t amount to much.
The Donald did last week say he wanted Trey Gowdy in Justice. Maybe he got that idea here.
The election is still a LONG way away. And the Dems are in chaos -- Hillary's got big problems. And just the other day Bernie's event in Seattle was totally shut down by belligerent Black-Lives-Matter folks. (I wonder if the irony is appreciated by the Dems. That unruly group was created by them, and now they're turning even on them!)
The polls will determine who Trump needs to pick a year from now.
That said, Go Cruz!!! He's still my guy.
Carson can not help Trump anywhere near Cruz can, after convention in Ohio.
I’m Cruz or Carson then Trump.
No it couldn’t.
I like Cruz, and I like Carson. I’d heard Carson filling in with his his lovely bride for Hannity. Thoughtful, deep, sense of humor, quick on his feet.
I’m in TX and voted for Cruz. That was a no-brainer. Much like Carson on all levels, only law versus brain surgery. Cruz is edgier and I consider that a major plus for the top of the ticket.
This world is brinkmanship. Having the edgier guy at the top makes sense, and having a very capable guy like Carson at his six rocks.
That said, I love watching Trump lob the grenades and laughing. It’s amusing. Sadly, it’s necessary to break down the wall maintained by compliant media, and unchallenged by LIVs.
I would really like to see Cruz/Carson after Donald has had his (necessary) fun.
He’s Jesse Ventura...with money.
He’s at best a RINO and at worst a hardcore liberal, and yet all of us are rolling over for him because he talks tough on issues dear to our hearts. Well, the Republican Party has only itself to blame. Had they implemented and stuck with conservative solutions the country would be better off and The Donald’s candidacy would be a joke. Alas, the GOP establishment knuckled under and caved in to this administration and left a void which Trump has filled. I don’t blame Trump. He’s like any great businessman. He sees what the people want and need, and is going out to meet the demand. This is The Donald playing the ultimate version of The Apprentice.
No it could never happen. Trump/Cruz maybe. Or Donald may have his own person in mind.
