Trump not out of the mainstream at all. In fact, 55% of Americans supported the MOST restrictive position on immigration. And that makes obvious sense....why would Americans cheer for foreigners to come in and take their jobs, live off their welfare, and provide security risks to their safety?

“Enforce existing immigration law” was not one of the options. If it were, I suspect the support level would be a lot higher than 55%.

The largest single group, 24.4 percent, supported the most draconian option — closed borders and mass deportation — that is dismissed by every candidate in the race, including Trump.

Media bias? What Media bias? I see no Media bias.

Trump is the only one who has said “deport all illegals”

Trump is the only one who has said build a wall

Trump is the only one that put out his immigration plan, talked against China,Mexico, Saudi Arabia

Trump is the most pro-American ,not owned by big donors like Soros or Koch brothers or zuckerberg billionaires that are for amnesty and or foreign interests as are the politicians

The same survey shows that most Americans are with Bernie Sanders and Liz Warren on Social Security.

I live in California and went to Boston the 4th of July.
In California Hispanics have taken over all no professional jobs and has forced an American citizen to learn Spanish to get any kind of service industry job.

In Boston there are no Hispanics around. All the jobs I see Hispanics doing here are done by blacks and whites in Boston no problem.

So from that I can say that Hispanics are taking the jobs of poorer blacks and whites in California and other places and they are also making Spanish another road block for America citizens to work.

From the article: “”Many citizens support policies that seem to fall outside of the range of policy options considered in elite discourse,” Broockman and Ahler conclude.”

A simply priceless piece of statistician interpretation-speak!

“Seem to fall outside”...? Doesn’t look like there is any ‘seem’ to it.

The politicos are wholly out of touch with mainstream America on this issue, and many others.

I'm going to stop reading all of these ... "Is Trump ... " .... type of threads because all they provoke are the comments that agree with Trump

Maybe I'll just mark the sources and put them in my "provocateur" folder

Just heard top of the hour news. It agitates me increibly because they lie lie lie.

News: "Donald Trump plans to end birthright citizenship, which is enshrined in the US Constitution"

This is a lie. "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof." This could not be more obvious.

Illegals are not subject to the jurisdiction of the US over and above arrest and deportation as an illegal alien. Being born on US soil of a person without jurisdiction does not confer citizenship.

This is exactly why the Constitution was written in plain language for the citizen to understand. This is also why laws are written in gobbledygook legalese that means whatever a lawyer decides.

If someone considers the politically correct narrative that the media and the left constantly spew to be mainstream, then yes, it is out of the mainstream.
For those that think politically correctness is bull shavacky and will eventually kill us all, then no, it is not out of the mainstream.

Liberals have a way of getting people to abandon common sense and embrace absurd, costly, and damaging things. They are masters of manipulation. At last someone (Trump) is giving voice to common sense and the preservation of our way of life. Like him or not, he is performing an invaluable service by airing mainstream concerns.

I pray the Republican Party is not stupid enough to force Trump into an independent run. They need to nominate him fair and square. Other than Trump, Carson is the only presidential hopeful with what I consider true intuition. The rest are basically “trained” politicians who walk the walk, talk the talk, and that’s about it.

I want a president who speaks his mind truthfully and from the heart. If Trump does pull this off I hope he utilizes Carson in some way who is also extremely brilliant by the way.

They think these headlines are going to scare off voters. The exact opposite is true. There is NOTHING wrong with delaying an illegal immigrant, and the American purple know it.

All else is a con job. I can’t think of a single logical reason to support illegal immigration.

I have been watching morning CNN rather than FoxNews. They are about the same -- both bring on 'expert' commentators who are more dingbat than rational.

This morning, Trump headlines again (he hehe he -- my Chris Plante impersonation, but I digress), and CNN has 2 guest commentators.

14th Amendment's guarantee of birthright citizenship.

There is no such thing as birthright citizenship.

The 14th Amendment took the power of defining citizenship out of the hands of the states and put it in the power of the federal government so that the freed slaves would be incorporated into the general population.
