A man who was shot in both legs by a black gang during a home invasion was lying on the ground, bleeding profusely, as emergency responders attended to his wounds.
In excruciating pain, he had a single message for the attackers: “Forgive them Father, they know not what they have done.”
Michael Lash’s recitation of Luke 23:34 was related by his wife, Whitney Lash, who posted an update of her husband’s condition on a GoFundMe page launched by friends trying to raise a little help for the family.
The attack happened late Sunday at their home in Atlanta. WSB-TV reported a gang of teens with guns approached Michael Lash, but he told them he would not allow them in his house, where his wife and two children were.
The response was a gunshot in each leg, the report said.
Lash’s mother-in-law, Jessica Huffman, told the station he was a hero. And she warned that the dangerous perpetrators are now fugitives from criminal justice.
“If they’ve done it once, I think they’ll do it again,” she said.

Not sure he is a coward, just un-trained and ill prepared for reality. Many of us who express our resolve are not likely armed at his very moment- are you? ( I am, my sidearm at hand while I have my coffee and read the news....)
I would like to see a follow-up 12 months from now- I’d bet a good steak that the couple will have rethought their lives a bit and now that he is disabled will have obtained both training and arms appropriate to the task at hand-living peacefully among the heathen.
He has too much to lose to keep his head in the sand.

Many in the suburbs aren’t much different. There are at least half a dozen new, very nice gun ranges in the last 10 years in Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, even in-town ITP. They are busy.
gun taped under kitchen table, one under recliner, when he got up, gun was not visible...but the best was when he had a paper grocery bag full of used and unused kleenex...until my sister cleaned his bedroom one day and threw out the grocery bag....dad called her and asked her when his garbage bag was.....it was in the garbage can in the alley. He told her to never throw anything out unless she ask him first. He only said to any boy was, have her home by 9:30.....didn't even look up from the book he was reading....never had any trouble with any guy that met my father....

I might have trouble doing what this guy did, but I can respect the Christian principles behind his decision. Different strokes for different folk....

At one time, they wouldn’t. In the age of political correctness and cowardly politicians[leaders] we now live in, the State of Georgia probably “forgave” them before the guy did. If they get probation, consider them harshly punished. They have plenty more home invasions, more shootings, and probably a few killings in their future.

LOL he knew a republican when he saw a gun...I use to watch my dad make his own bullets. The city didn’t supply them and his gun was an old 6 shooter (like in the movies) back in the 40’s. After he retired he used the mold to make sinkers for fishing...sometimes he would have this gun lying on the bed beside him when he met the new boy friend...
If he’s genuine in his feelings, I have no issue. But I doubt very much that this isn’t just another SJW placing victimhood on his attacker. Far too many examples for me not to default to that line of thought. And most “christians” today believe in Christ with less fervor than I have for playing Skyrim. Gay churches and no blowback pretty much prove that.
