The next time you're debating the merits of capitalism vs. socialism, just ask yourself one question, "Would you rather spend a few hours at your favorite restaurant or the Bureau of Motor Vehicles?"

True, but it’s about more than that IMHO. It’s about the right to be and individual and to self-determining. Socialism and Communism = The Borg.

$ earned v. $ plundered

Trump built something. Socialists built this…(FORCED debt slavery for us, our children and grandchildren)...

How did Trump get into this? He’s a crony capitalist, not a capitalist. When I use the term “capitalism,” I’m talking about putting your own capital at risk in transparent, competitive markets with no guarantees of reward. No bailouts, no subsidies, no protected markets.

Of course. It’s just a comeback line for some socialist blowhard/Bernie Sanders fan at a social function coming soon to your world.

I thought the “Hillary for misery” would make up for it all.

Maybe extreme capitalism and extreme socialism are two sides of the same coin?

I knew where you were going. Just wanted to add my two cents. Over the years I've been exposed to a bit too many pseudo-intellectual pseudo Marxists. All of them were egotistical. It was so ironic, that these narcissistic people who so needed to be admired were pushing a socio-political system that takes away the right of the individual to distinguish themselves via their own efforts. Ironic, tragic, and extremely dangerous.

Anyway, thanks for the post.

Socialism: You come to bread!

Socialism: You come to stand in line for bread!

Capitalism: Bread comes to you!

Capitalism: You pay somebody to get the bread for you!

Capitalism can lead to the unequal distribution of wealth whereas socialism leads to the equal distribution of misery.
Those who hold the reins always get richer.

Capitalism vs. Socialism

Point taken but it begins with a false premise.

Socialism is a type of government and capitalism is a type of economy. Capitalism exist in all forms of government.

It is important to keep the correct perspective between capitalism operating under a Socialist government and capitalism operating under the America form of government.

The primary difference lies in who owns or controls the capital. Americanism allows private ownership of property; socialism does not.
