By those standards, Trump is much more conservative than Bush. He is also more likely to keep his word.

Indeed Trump is NOT a conservative. But Trump is a non repentant fighter. He doesn’t apologize. He doesn’t have a staff of morons translating what he “meant” to say. His issue is the one thing that will destroy this country. IMMIGRATION. I don’t care about ANYTHING else. If ‘we’ lose the immigration amnesty fight this country is done. Finished. Destroyed. We will forever have a voting block that will elect the caudillo who promises the most free stuff. And that is the liberal progressive democrat. That’s why I like him. In this election cycle...I AM a single issue voter.
