GOP insiders to Trump: Enough already

Donald Trump may have the whole Republican field talking about immigration, but early-state insiders wish he would just stop.

Seven in 10 Republicans said they’ve heard more than enough about Trump’s plan, which includes a controversial call to end birthright citizenship, according to this week’s POLITICO Caucus, our weekly bipartisan survey of the top operatives, activists and strategists in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Trump’s plan calls for an end to policy that guarantees citizenship for children born in the United States to illegal immigrants. That’s one of several controversial provisions under Trump’s plan, which is particularly galling to New Hampshire GOP insiders — 85 percent of whom said the real estate mogul and current GOP front-runner’s immigration plan was harmful to the party.

Nearly two-thirds of Iowa Republicans said the same.

“He’s solidly put an anchor around the neck of our party, and we’ll sink because of it,” an Iowa Republican said of Trump.

It’s probably best to ignore those folks. They’re either low information types or frauds with conflicts of interest. Anyone supporting the DC crowd and what they’ve done to America for 30+ years is simply not credible.

Note that it’s “insiders”. They leave that out a couple of times so that anyone just skimming the article will think it means all Republican voters.

I see great news in this statement. Let's pick it apart:

“He’s solidly put an anchor around the neck of our party, and we’ll sink because of it,” an Iowa Republican said of Trump.

So he's afraid he and his buds will be gone. That is very good to hear.

McCain and Mitt Romney put an anchor around the GOP neck and gave us 8 years of Obama.

IOW the old time LOSER GUARD who depend on the business as usual to validate their miserable lives.

We have all seen them. Old good for nothing so called leaders of our local GOP who will blindly follow whoever and jump when establishment says jump.

This reeks of desperation on the part of the zombie guard.

Yes, then they get even louder and more obnoxious, and surprisingly, it’s all cool here at FR these days to do that.

It’s only just begun and Trump leads every poll in every state and in every demographic and in every match up and is 6 points behind Hillary now which is a major improvement. It’s a blowout.

“He’s solidly put an anchor around the neck of our party, and we’ll sink because of it,” an Iowa Republican (and probably Jeb Bush supporter) said of Trump.

How's the current open borders policy working now Mr. Iowa Republican? Stop the appeasing of the hispanic vote! If something isn't done to change things soon it won't matter anyway.

I hope Trump wants to get rid of the federal capital gains taxes and estate and inheritance taxes. Reduction of fuel taxes and income tax rates, if not just doing away with the income tax completely.

He’s not doing away with the income tax, but he says he’ll lower the rates.

He said he’s for lowering cap gains and omitting death tax.

Fuel taxes are a state tax so out of his purview.

He is adding a 20% import tax though. That might be why he has not signed Grover’s pledge about never raising taxes.

“weekly bipartisan survey of the top operatives, activists and strategists in Iowa and New Hampshire.”

democrats and the GOP-E that has ruined the Republican party and have been at war with Conservatives, those who “reached out” to democrats with money and promises to have them illegally vote in the Mississippi Senatorial Primary runoff to preserve a rino and steal the election from the Conservative base. I support Senator Cruz but I’m glad Trump has brought attention to and is causing this debate which is really about the uniparty, the control of the Republican party by K Street and the U.S.Chamber, crony capitalism with the GPO-E in bed with democrats.

Hey Katie, someone crossing over our border without permission is committing a federal FELONY!

This is not “immigration,” they are not “immigrants,” they are criminals who are invading the United States of America.

So pi$$ off, Katie and the GOPe.

I’m not sure who they are polling. Well actually I do, there are an awful of self hating Republicans who buy the most stupid msm propaganda as if the msm is where you would get the best advice to win. Also some are just modern day slave owners who take advantage of illegal labor to enrich themselves. We didn’t lose in 2012 because of not supporting amnesty and I can assure you that if our candidate had he would’ve lost by even bigger margins. All non partisan polls show huge support for securing the borders and are more supportive the Trump approach.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/08/20/mainstream-polls-show-americans-with-donald-trump-on-immigration/

I’m tired of the foolishness in the GOP who want us to believe that appealing to illegal aliens will broaden the party. Texas has cracked down on the border and it has a majority Hispanic electorate and the GOP have been growing their margins considerably even among Hispanics. It is condescending to think that Hispanic citizens would be some how have the interests of illegal immigrates as their primary concern. I personally think it is a good way to appeal to the working poor and minorities because it is their wages that are being the most depressed by illegal immigration and bad trade deals. It is their opportunities that are being shipped out of the country.
