MEGYN KELLY: THE FIRST CASUALTY IN DONALD TRUMP’S ‘ASYMMETRIC’ WAR ON FOX NEWS
Breitbart ^ | August28,2015 | Matthew Bolye

Posted on 08/28/2015 5:31:27 AM PDT by Hojczyk

2016 GOP frontrunner and billionaire Donald Trump already won his war with the Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly.

She’s exposed as having a point of view, rather than being a purely impartial arbiter of news. Now he’s just having fun as a larger war between him and the network’s powers-that-be looms.

But what Trump has done in a truly special manner is expose that fallacy. It’s not that Trump’s war with Kelly isn’t petty—it is, and it is probably counterproductive to be fighting with a television personality for weeks on end as he’s soaring in the polls. He could be fighting with the Mexican or Chinese governments or with Democrats or his fellow GOP candidates—all of which would be more conducive to helping him earn more supporters—but Trump isn’t someone who backs down easily–and since Kelly came after him, not the other way around, he feels like he needs to win. Well, in the regard of whether or not Kelly is in fact impartial, Trump has a decisive victory.

That doesn’t mean that Kelly will see a drop in ratings or a loss of status in the media. She’s still the top dog on the Fox News Channel, and her show still gets incredible ratings. Until a credible competitor emerges—CNN and MSNBC certainly haven’t been able to make the cut—she’ll remain there, just like O’Reilly and Hannity have. But Trump has taken one thing away from her that she and her bosses at Fox can never replace, no matter how much time or money they spend on it: the appearance of impartiality.

Actually, the author clearly doesn't get the mood of the electorate. The feud, publicly denouncing her partisanship, and the open spectacle of bringing low a "media star" is part and parcel of what has propelled Trump in the polls, IMO.

Playing nice as a republican is a death knell for a candidate. Trump is brash, and Cruz smoother, but the rest simply don't act like they are tied of being whipping boys for the media and their political wing, the democrats.

Too funny...same here!!

Did you see Katrina Pierson, on Lemon’s show, last night? She didn’t get to talk too much, but she did great. And, Donald Trump did a short call in, on the show before, I believe.

Ummm... You don’t appear to recall what happened when Candy crowley “moderated” a debate between Obama and Romney.

You know - the part where she actively supported Obama in a question, and IIRC she did so by lying through her teeth.

There is one problem with this article.

While it’s mostly accurate, it misses the point that Trump’s ‘feud’ with the media is in fact taking on the biggest problem in and threat to, the country.

And that alone explains his numbers. The fact that the DEMGOP is complicit with them explains the rest of any numbers one may question.

China, Iran and the rest aren’t a fraction of the threat the home grown wretched hive of scum and villany presents, even with nukes. We can defend against missles. We cannot, as the founders repeatedly observed, survive the threat within.

This was a really good article.I love that Trump has blown the cover on FOX. I have stopped watching all the shows now. Haven’t missed a thing. Sure would like to know what kind of rating drop they have had.

I’m looking forward to the televised debate Trump pulls out of and instead broadcasts his live replies on the Internet. There, he’ll be able to answer legitimate questions in real time and he’ll also be able to ridicule the questioners for loaded, or stupid, of fight-inducing or agenda setting questions. I would bet such an Internet broadcast would outdraw the actual event. Did you hear Trump say that because it is brilliant!!!

I believe the main reason for Trumps popularity is that he has dared to step away from the herd and has been turning on and attacking anyone who tries to bully him back into place. Trump refuses to play by their rules. When they attack him it is he who profits, and they who are fired.

And he has the personal business history (made billions means he is no dummy) to show he has gravitas. He is already 'proven'. Most running for office have proved nothing. How is a lawyer who was in the senate proof they will be a good leader? A CEO like Trump has lead complex businesses in good and bad times and came out ahead. That adds weight to his insults. If Trump calls you a dummy - what proof does a politician have they are not? A law diploma?

MeGYN’s first night back from her “vacation” she did a totally unfair and unbalanced segment with Chris Stirewalt on Trump's immigration plan. She's the one who restarted it. Trump was clearly watching as he lit into her in real time on Twitter. I'm not buying Ailes’ claim that this was an unprovoked attack.

[Megyn Kelly is] exposed as having a point of view, rather than being a purely impartial arbiter of news.

What is there to "expose"?

Megyn Kelly--like Bill O'Reilly, who precedes her; and Sean Hannity, who succeeds her--does, indeed, have a "point of view." No secret there.

[I think Kelly is angling for a really big bucks anchor gig at ABC/CBS/NBC.]

Yes, with megyn’s ambitiousness, it’s a good bet.

However, she has way too much personality and edge that I doubt she’ll be taken seriously as a straight-news anchor.

It makes her more like Conan O’Brien taking over for Leno, which failed within months.

“She’s exposed as having a point of view, rather than being a purely impartial arbiter of news.”.................

But she was merely asking him a question as to how he would handle such a question in the 2016 Presidential debates should it arise - and it is certain that this question will come up.

If indeed Donald Trump is asked this question, he needs to give a better answer than pouting and calling the questioner names. He looked petty. Resorting to name-calling is like a little kid who is crying over some sort of insult.

Megyn Kendall-Kelly had an affair with Brit Hume? I though Brit had more class?

After finding Fox News election 2000 I never thought I would be turning Fox off. But enough is enough. I am so sick and tired of liberal news. I am a Ted Cruz supporter and not a Trump guy.

One would think. She apparently knows how to use her feminity to obtain what she wants. Have you read the post? Lots of rumors an addition to wiki post. She’s made enemies all along her rise. Seems to “endear” herself to powerful men

Republican had been set up to believe our candidates would have at least one venue where our candidates would be allowed to shine, deliver policy and to challenge one another on their own, without the panel getting in the way.

FOX provided instead, as bad a panel as we have ever seen.

Me-again Kelly was over the top, or swallowed too many uppers. Brett was a four legged burro carrying water for the RNC, and Chris was just Chris. It was Trump who paid the price.

Do you realize they even had a plan to escort him from the stage if he bolted? Outrageous effort to take him out.

Absolutely, I too don’t watch Kelly since that night. Period.
