Republican presidential front-runner said Thursday that his plans to improve the economy for black Americans is why he is leading in the polls with black voters, though at least one recent poll disputes Trump's claim.

"I lead with almost every group. including with the African-American groups," Trump told reporters at an event in Greenville, South Carolina. "I have tremendous support."

Quinnipiac University released a national poll Thursday showing that while Trump is leading the Republican Party nationally, he is polling poorly with black Americans in the general election.

The poll found... When asked "If the election for President were being held today, and the candidates were Hillary Clinton the Democrat and Donald Trump the Republican, for whom would you vote?" 3% said they'd vote for Trump.

You've got to lead in all of them before you can say you lead in the polls? That's like saying you've got to get every single black vote before you can say you led among black voters. Crap like this is why CNN is such a joke.

Trump may be leading with that tiny group of Black Republicans that vote in Republican primaries, but he constantly conflates and confuses poll results to make himself look good. He also tends to mix scientific and non scientific polls and otherwise just throws out such of blizzard of claims that it is difficult to ever fact check him.

Donald Trump is NOT going to win the black vote in a general election. He will probably get around 5% with a ceiling of maybe 10%. He will also NOT win Hispanic voters - or Asians, or Jews, or any other minority group. In fact, he will probably do exceedingly badly with all.

For Trump to win he needs to fairly dramatically increase the GOP share of the white vote - AND not get completely and utterly destroyed with every minority group.

The silent majority of which he speaks is not what it was in the Nixon era. Now it is non producers, victim groups, urban voters (ie, mostly Democrats), those dependent on government checks who don’t want the free ride to end, various other minority groups, etc.

He went up 8 points overall since the last time this poll was taken. Who cares about the black vote? They will vote Dem if David Duke was the nominee.

‘We the People’ have been bent over and viciously raped for the better part of 25 years by the ruling class (ie professional politicians) and you find it puzzling why Trump followers are not interested in being led by yet another professional politician?? Just damn!

LOL, all trump has to do is offer the voters more money to vote for him. Vote for trump and receive $50. Then send buses to pick them up and drive to several precincts so they can vote often.

Here is my advice to Trump: don’t give a whit about any poll showing you don’t get a lot of support from the blacks. When was the last GOP candidate who got a lot? That puts it in perspective. You are fighting the 10 to 1 ratio and it is not going to change. The dems have been the party of gimme and it ain’t changing especially when your message has the word work in it.

Who cares how much support Trump has among blacks?

They’ve marginalized themselves in the electoral process by marching in lockstep with the Dimocrats.

One of them needs to issue a second “Emancipation Proclamation.”
