Donald Trump’s polling no longer looks like a bubble set to burst
WaPo ^ | August 28 at 1:50 PM | Philip Bump

We noted early this month that Donald Trump's lead in the polling emerged quickly and ferociously — but that it was hardly unprecedented. In the 2012 cycle, both Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich saw similar surges into the lead, only to watch those leads recede just as rapidly a few weeks later. When we looked at this a few weeks ago, the comparison looked like this:

Trump, like Perry and Gingrich, topped out at a bit above a 10-percentage-point lead. But then that lead held.

Here's what that graph looks like now:

We've increased the scale, because we wanted to add another 2012 polling surge into the mix: The final surge that gave Mitt Romney the nomination.

Dept. of Commerce could be useful. You get a tough guy to negotiate trade deals and put a lid on union BS.

Cruz took down the establishment’s pick for Senator.

Trump has never won an election.

Cruz has also argued before the Supreme Court several times. Don’t know offhand how many he won.

So you don't think Cruz as VP. OK.

Do you think Trump would save Cruz for a Supreme Court opening?

I’d like to see Cruz stay in the Senate as Majority Leader.

If you believe the polls and do not know they are “MANAGED”, meaning scripted, meaning agitprop, meaning Adjusted..

What metric do you accept as valid?

Internal trade deals are none of the Federal Govenments business.

Lots of liberal billionaires have accomplished a lot. Mark Zuckerberg for one. Would you want to elect him based on his accomplishments?

Cruz only hasn’t accomplished much in Congress because he gets outvoted and vetoed by liberals. By your logic, no conservative should ever be elected president, because by nature they can’t accomplish much given that all the Dems and half of the Repubs are liberals.

You elect someone who holds your values and will put in place the policies you want. Your criteria of “accomplishment” is meaningless unless it’s specifically relevant to that goal.

Could Trump appoint him? Cause he'd never get elected. Even though I don't think McCain and a few others are coming back.

So Trump is in the race as a player in a conspiracy against Cruz?

That certainly is creative.

“Clue: RINOS are NOT conservatives.. Faux-republicans are democrats..”

Conservatives aren’t conservatives anymore, either. Have you ever tried to explain to a “Conservative” where the money for their social security (or other government) check comes from?

My PRINCIPLES, not your principles, or a Polls Opinion of others opinions.. you know GOSSIP..

The metric is my principles.. the CLOSEST one to those gets my VOTE(S)..
vary in the slightest way and you get ZIP... when theres no one close..

However; many have no principles.. i.e. rinos, democrats, many trump supporters(but I repeat myself.. )

Of course 90% of Cruz’ superpac donors are large donors.

Which begs the question what he will have to do to pay them back.

Would you like to think that one over again?

As it stands, you are saying your subjective opinion is how you measure objective electability.

Cruz has also argued before the Supreme Court several times.
IOW, unlike his time as a Senator he did what he was hired to do. BFD

Most of us do what we are hired to do. Does that qualify us to be President? His wife has more qualification and accomplishments.

Cruz accomplishments:
Argue, debate, talk, write letters, make phone calls...sign documents with out first reading, then complain he was lied to. Signed away his right to veto the Iran deal in favor of the progressive Obama. Exhibited confusion on the wording of the 14th (this from a so called constitutional lawyer). Intimidated by Meghan Kelley, then couldn't handle/answer her simple question. To name a few.

True....... the word conservative is a nebulous term...
But to have a conversation today (HERE) you must use it..

Truth is the Progressives invented to term to explain the differnece (for them) to understand what a RINO and a republican was.. they needed a term...

AND the main stream absorbed it...
A Conservative to a liberal is a non RINO...
A nebulous term agreed.. but fairly true.. kinda..

They are ignorant that a democrat is for a US Democracy and a republican is for THE US Republic.. chartered by the US Constitution..

and you cannot have BOTH... one or the other..
Democrats perform acts of Sedition every day just cause their democrats.. and despise the US Constitution..
AND want to change America from a Republic INTO a Democracy..

The US Constitution DEMANDS a republic and DENYs a democracy.. simple really..
Simple (( IF )) you know what the two THINGS are.. not the two WORDS but two THINGS..
The words can be SPUN but things are what they are..

* THIS particular Republic is co-operation between SOVEREIGN STATES... with a limit on the size and SCOPE of the federal givenment.. which is a VASSAL of the States..

* A Democracy is always Mob Rule by Mobsters with a Central Givernment with the States turned into provinces as VASSALS to the federal givernment..

If youe a democrat your for a dmeocracy if your a republican your for a this unique kind of a republic..

AND very FEW indeed knows all this..
Most are eye rollers that think America is a democratic-republic.. which is ONLY possible (( IF ))the US Constitution BECOMES TOILET PAPER..

I was joking. The senators would never vote him in, at least I doubt it.

He got John Boehner to hate him. That qualifies him to be President more than anything Trump’s done.
