I Like Donald Trump. I REALLY do. But...
Vanity ^ | 8/29/2015 | Self

Posted on 08/29/2015 9:18:10 AM PDT by cuban leaf

Though this is a vanity, I have linked to the foundational source of my point.

I REALLY like what the Trump is saying. I like his attitude, I lake his effectively destroying PC and his takedown of the MSM. I like seeing all the liberal and GOPe heads exploding. I especially like him running a screen for Cruz.

But I would be very concerned about a Trump presidency. If you look at his stances in the past and some that are current and couple that with is personality, attitude and MO, and imagine him as the "strong man" in the article in the link, you will see where I am coming from.

Just enjoy him for now and see what happens. I like Cruz and Huckabee, but I am not choosing right now. I want to wait a few months and see what happens. Right now the conversation has been very good. The right people are squirming.

“It was written approximately 70 years ago”

It’s a cartoon about the rise of Hitler.

I don’t see how you can draw a parallel between Trump and Hitler. Are you comparing the illegal immigrants to the German Jews?

If you view the cartoon (it’s not a video. It’s pictures.) you will see I don’t mean “strong man” in that way.

I have not seen a post yet that addresses the point of the cartoon.

But this may add some more clarity to my perspective:

It can happen anywhere - even here - if people are desperate and have had enough.

I’m just always watching for this. I loved Reagan when he ran in 1980 and voted for him. But his popularity at the time made me a bit nervous. Turned out to be ok, but each case is unique.

True. But there was a lot between Reagan’s Democrat days and his run for the presidency, not least two terms as a Republican governor.

imagine if Trump was not in.
IMO, it would be Bush all the way even at this point.
We would be screaming to get our candidate up in the polls.

If you don’t like zero hedge, here is the same thing on many other sites. It is very old and comes from the times of 1984 and Atlas Shrugged:

This country is done already. Trump can’t kill a dead corpse.

Leftist immigrants and leftist illegals are reaching the tipping point where they and the marxrist natives outnumber us who are for individual liberty and freedom.
Trump is the only one that is not owned by rich donors .

All other politicians are owned by rich donors who don’t have the best interests of America in mind

This is why only Trump is saying build a wall, deport illegals, illegals are criminals, China is ripping the USA off, Mexico etc. etc.

Politicians have destroyed this country the USA.

All the other politicians are looking to make money off the donations and to advance their political career

This is why many politicians talk a good game but have never done anything conservative or to further the Interests of America or Americans : FACT

Trump is the only one that can get the USA out of the hole the politicians and the media put us in

Obama has about 100 seeds for socialism started already obamacare , HUD plan etc.

Even this year all your Senators voted for some of the worst bills ever to empower on the Iran deal and Obama trade

ALL the U.S. senators voted for the Corker bill which made Obama’s Iran deal unstoppable.
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2015/07/forget_obamarepublicans_made_the_iran_nukes_deal_possible.html

Well there was one Senator namely Cotton who voted against this empowering of Obama

All politicians are a bought-and-paid for corruptocrats for the internationalists to continue their plunder and destruction of America

If Trump wins the Presidency then he will have conservative and Republican coattails that are a mile long. He won’t be able to get any liberal policies through even if he wanted to. He’s running as a conservative on most issues. He will have a conservative congress to deal with and an angry electorate to keep him straight.

Frankly I’m glad he’s not very astute on policy issues. Trump is a businessman of extraordinary talent. He knows how to hire very competent people to run his businesses and he will likely do the same with his administration. He will hire the best and if they don’t produce, he will FIRE THEM.

That’s what has made him a very successful businessman and that is what would make him a very successful president.

The last President to do that was Ronald Reagan. He hired the best and if they didn’t produce he fired them and found someone who could.

Trump for all his faults is a committed patriot and nationalist. He is no one world neo-con like Bush and Bush and Obama and Bush.

....."What are his settled convictions? His core beliefs? We don’t really know, do we?"..... We don't because Trump is a "flexible" individual who adapts to whatever will get him his ultimate goal....he's accustomed to "playing" all sides to obtain the end he seeks. But in doing so it's very difficult to pin him down on what his convictions are other then to continue the path he is currently on...to remain in the race despite the barrage of attacks. So far he can say he's successful in achieving this but a lot can happen between now and the end game.

Recently this has been traveling the social media etc. It means nothing more than what I wrote above....but will be "played" against Trump as not being Conservative.....thus the opposition will play their hand as well....it's ow the left works.

So you think Trump supporters would be Bush supporters?

Or you think Trump supporters would rather sit on the sidelines than support Ted Cruz?

I don’t understand Trump’s popularity. My favorites in the field are Scott Walker and Ted Cruz.

All these people who really like Trump but hope some other candidate replaces him, huh?

HE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE PERFECT!!

The fact that he will actually do something about immigration should get him elected on that alone. None of the others will, not really. They’d get in office and worry about working with the other side, that’s how they roll.

But Trump doesn’t roll that way. If he promises to stop illegal immigration then, by God he’ll do it. If he doesn’t agree with me on every issue, that’s ok. None of them do.

It is as if Obama has set us up for just such a man.

It’s not a hit piece. It is not about trump.

Well of course not Mr. cuban leaf. Everyone here believes this isn't just another of dozens of 3rd rate hit pieces per day.

It is not comparing Trump to Hitler. It does not in any way describe the rise of Hitler.

Like 1984, Atlas Shrugged and, decades later, The Wave, it is a warning that it could happen to anyone - that YOU and I could actually find ourselves supporting such a monster before they are clearly a monster.

We are living in VERY dangerous times. People really are desperate. We are at risk of taking very dangerous action. We must carefully vet every candidate and ensure that we don’t have a “tiger by the tail” in any of them.

I’m not saying Trump would not be an excellent president. I’m simply a man who knows human nature and understands the risks involved with ANY presidential candidate and am offering some thoughts on how we can very much applaud what Trump is saying and doing, but we really must ask ourselves what he REALLY believes and what solutions he would attempt to implement and how he would respond to his political enemies on each issue - especially if WE are his political enemies on an issue.

Republicans need to find the perfect, flawless person who is able to be everything to everyone 110% of the time for at least four years.
Then we would all be happy and live in utopia.
