I'm guessing that the issue is being raised by LGBT advocacy groups.

No matter how many pieces of paper they get, they still won't be "married".

It’s not “religious grounds” to refuse to play make believe.

It’s simply a refusal to believe and validate a lie.

Beast.gov is out to punish everyone who won’t accept *it* as the ultimate authority on truth.

Byzantine Canon (Church) Law grew out of the civil law of the Eastern Roman Empire and continues to govern the various Orthodox churches.

Second marriages (whether following divorce or widowhood) are permitted, but the wedding liturgy has a slightly penitential tone; third marriages are reluctantly permitted and the liturgy is VERY penitential; fourth marriages are absolutely forbidden.

IIRC, a judge in the county has offered to issue the marriage license legally.

The two men do not want that—they apparently want to FORCE Kim Davis to do so.

If this information is accurate, then it isn’t about the ceremony, it is about shoving an ideology down the throat of someone who has deep religious and moral objections to the act.

Since Roberts rewrote the Obamacare penalty ("It is not a tax!"--how often did we hear that?) into a tax, they think they are the Congress. Seems like everyone is 'writing laws' except the people who are Constitutionally tasked with that duty.

Has her superior ordered her to give out marriage licenses to people of the same sex?

If so, she should resign.

If not, she’s doing fine.

Are you serious/ This woman has been married 4 times. That is atrocious. She is a laughingstock. She does conservatives a disservice in our anti-gay marriage. We can do better then this woman as our representative. I wish we had someone who took marriage seriously being our role model on this. Sad situation that we are stuck with.

I’m not sure that Ms Davis is aware of her 14th Amendment protections.
14th Amendment, Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

The Supreme Court has implemented the requirement for changing the definition of marriage. The Court is not a state, and their ruling is not a law.

She’s an elected official so her superiors would probably be the county voters. It will be interesting to see what their verdict is.

I don't care but the left is mocking her so called Christian values on forums such as Huffington, Kos and NPR.

She became a Christian 4 years ago and is still married to the same person she was then. So, as per usual with those groups, they have serious problems with telling the truth.

Right - our statute in Kentucky was declared unconstitutional. So no licenses can be issued to anyone until our statutes are brought into compliance with the SCOTUS ruling. She is not granting licenses to anyone, so everyone is being treated “equally”.
