Hey asshat. There are NO peer nations. Idiot. And, you forgot the tired old meme of "With a gun in the house, there is a 15,000% more chance you'll get shot." Looks like this clown has been studying the Gun Violence Messaging guide book.

IF the stats are correct ... it is because of better operating cars being driven by better trained and operating operators and NOT by denying driver’s licenses and forbidding the manufacturing and sale of automobiles.

If this guy thinks gun violence is bad in the US now, wait until he sees what happens when government tries to take them away ...

A gun puts a 78 year old, 98 pound woman on equal footing with a 6 foot 5, 300 pound thug. Its called FREEDOM.

In America, you can be shot at an elementary school. You can be murdered at a church or movie theatre.

Too many "gun-free" zones in America.

Read the original article he’s using as a source - he’s “cherry picking” & manipulating (i.e. he’s using all gun deaths & traffic accident #s & attributing them to ‘young people’ to make his meme work). http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2015/01/americas-top-killing-machine/384440/

Though even as fatal transportation incidents dropped in 2013, they accounted for two in five fatalities in the workplace in the United States that year, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

CDC data on firearms offers a more complicated picture, in part because of how the agency categorizes causes of death. Gun deaths can include suicides, homicides, accidental firearms discharges, and even legal killings—but the overall data picture is incomplete.

It’s also true that as the gun homicide rate has declined in the United States, suicides now account for the majority of gun deaths, according to Pew.

Today, overall accidents are the fifth leading cause of death, according to CDC data. Americans are most likely to die from heart disease—followed by cancer, chronic respiratory disease, and stroke.

If more young Americans had the means to buy a car the death rates would self adjust to a proper rate.

The .gov overseers have made this happen by placing many obstructions to employment for America’s youth.

In the meantime the illegals are picking up the slack in the traffic fatalities statistics because they get jobs and vehicles.

America doesn’t have a gun problem. America has a primarily “blacks with guns problem”. It would be accurate to say that “minorities with guns” are the problem in America. 80% or more of all gun crimes in America are committed by Black males of a specific age group. It is the elephant in the room that no ones dares bring up. The reality is that if we could get and keep all weapons out of the hands of minorities, America’s gun/crime statistics would look like Sweden overnight.

So far only Bloomberg has had the courage to actually say this. Of course that turd wants everybody’s guns and is simply starting at the most obvious place. He would never be content to stop there with the problem solved. We need to push back on the insanity of disarming the law abiding to lower the #’s of criminals killing each other and their victims.

I always like to see what the credentials and writings are of an author for the simple reason of finding out where they are coming from. Dan Diamond is a 'contributor' to Forbes Magazine and looking at his list of articles appears to be an enthusiast for Obamacare and sports.

This is his listed 'Bio' from the Forbes website;
I'm the executive editor of the Advisory Board's Daily Briefing, a popular health care newsletter that goes out to more than 150,000 subscribers. I'm also a blogger for ESPN's TrueHoop Network, a columnist at California Healthline, and a social media junkie. Posts are eclectic; views are personal.

How many of the gun deaths were suicides? How many were criminal on criminal violence? How may were felons shot while committing crimes or fleeing from the police?

Statistics like this mean nothing without further breakdown of the numbers. One reason why gun deaths are so concentrated among young adults is that the overwhelming majority of violent crime is committed by young males. You can reduce the rate of violent crime all you want. It doesn't change who it is that perpetrates violent crime. These numbers don't mean jack s**t.

Thousands more children die by drowning in swimming pools per year. We should ban swimming pools!

30,000 gun deaths per year, 21,000 of which are suicides, means we must ban guns!

1.3M abortions per year means it is “rare.”

Hypocrisy thy name is Democrat.
