It’s easier to churn out reams of regulations without thought and let the courts cement what it ought to mean, than to put thought into the creation of law in the first place.

Yep. Powerless to stop the pot smokers in Colorado and the sanctuary lawbreakers in San Francisco, but did you hear some lady denied a homocouple a marriage license? Katy bar the door!

Plenty of people have called on Obama to resign for his litany of crimes. The “Obama standard” is not a standard of behavior that any decent person should respect.

The sad fact of the matter is that Kim Davis is indeed following the “Obama standard” where anyone in elected office can do anything they can get away with in defiance of law. By taking this approach, Cruz weakens the case against Obama, and strengthens Obama’s assertion that he can do as he pleases.

After all, if a mere county clerk can defy a court order, why can’t the President of the United States?

Terrible, terrible reasoning. Pure pandering. Good short-term politics maybe but awful long-term political strategy.

You’re full of dog manure!

Kim Davis was upholding the laws of the State of Kentucky, the only jurisdiction that exists in this matter.

The Fed Gov has no authority in the matter.

Cruz is the man of honor, and those such as yourself should wither in shame.

Do you support child marriage?
Do you support consanguineous marriage?

Seems that the State of Kentucky feels differently, else it would have intervened.

Proving that you are an idiot wasn’t necessary, but thanks for the gesture.

Did you expect the Ky troopers to engage the marshals in a gun battle?

You don’t belong here!

Funny, plain ol’ citizens stood down the BLM at the Bundy Ranch and the feds backed down.

If the State of Kentucky can’t do the same, it isn’t a state, it’s a federal colony.

Amen. This is neither an honorable nor moral course of action.

It is, however, exactly what I’d expect from the Democrat she is.

Don’t misunderstand, I loathe the Supreme Court and believe they have no jurisdiction in this matter, which is what her lawyers should have stressed. I agree with the person who posts she should not have even shown up to federal court today. My comment was regarding being told that she was issuing no license’s, to hetero’s as well.

Also again if she issues marriage licenses to people on there 2nd or 3rd marriage then she is also participating and sanctioning adultery. Sorry if people don’t like that bit the truth is the truth.

I think this is bringing out the bigger problem within Christianity whereby we are all guilty of believing some sins are worse than others. I think this is a wake up call to all Christians that we cannot continue to be lukewarm fence sitters. If you can’t sell a cake to a gay couple as say a Baptist, the you can’t work in a grocery store and sell alcohol. It’s time to stand true ALL THE TIME.

I guess Ted Cruz is not honorable nor is he taking a moral course of action either?

Cruz: I Call Upon Every Believer...to Stand with Kim Davis

If you think she should have resigned for her beliefs, then how is that any different than being fired for them?

Sterilized intercourse in heterosexual marriages (birth control) paved the way for sterile homosexual “marriage.”

Only 90 years ago, all Protestants opposed birth control.

> State sanctioned marriage laws reinforce social norms against incest and child marriage.

State sanctioned marriage laws now also reinforce the new socially engineered norm of acceptance of homosexuality. That sword has a double edge to it and both edges are just as sharp.

Stop worshiping the state and the problem goes away.

“...but if she is refusing to issue licenses for gays because there is no KY law telling her she must do so, why not continue to do so for others in the meantime? Has she said?”

Not sure of her “official” response to your question, but it seems to me that she would then be opening herself up to the charge that she is not treating everyone equally, eg illegally discriminating, etc.

As it is, since the Kentucky laws (as well as a host of laws in many other states) have been declared unconstitutional by the five black robes, the Kentucky legislature must now meet to re-write their marriage laws in a way they think could pass constitutional muster (or, some other type of legislative remedy).

Therefore, perhaps Mrs. Davis (probably upon advice of legal counsel) figures it would be best to simply stop issuing ANY marriage licenses until the matter has been cleared up when the Kentucky legislature meets in January.
