Written historical accounts of this phase of the USA will be unflattering to Federal Circuit Court Judge David L. Bunning...if they are ever published at all.

Based on the Supreme Court ruling on marriage, I can see that we have a conflict here.

What I don’t understand, and may never understand, is why she is in jail.

What crime has she been convicted of? What violent felony has she been accused of, that she needs to be in jail awaiting trail?

When is her trial scheduled? Is she even going to have a trial, or just be behind bars indefinitely??

They may not be all that unflattering to Bunning, actually.

He could have slapped her with a $10,000 a day fine for each day of noncompliance and sent her home.

Instead he jailed her. No fine, no docking of her salary (I think), no financial harm.

The Totalitarian Left is put onto the defensive trying to claim that she isn’t a martyr, and even if she is all they wanted were financially ruinous fines, not jail. So it’s really not their fault.

The KY Democrats are freaking out, seeing their hold on the statewide offices and the Legislative majority put into jeopardy.

Im not making excuses for him, but assuming that Bunning was going to levy some sort of sanction for ignoring a judicial order, he seems to have stumbled (blindly?) into the one option most likely to gain her sympathy and support, make the Proggies look like a**holes a d completely undermine the KY Democrat political machine.
