In a new book, however, James Bond will be getting a dose of modern morality, as author Anthony Horowitz reveals the tricks he used to drag the spy kicking and screaming into the era of political correctness.
Horowitz, the writer of new Bond novel Trigger Mortis, said he had worked carefully to preserve Ian Fleming’s original character and ensuring his 1950s attitudes remained in tact.

I stopped seeing Bond movies after Sean Connery. To me Connery will be the only James Bond.
Some (mostly the purists) would say that Bond jumped the shark years (decades?) ago. A black Bond, a “kinder, gentler Bond, and/or a Bond with a phag friend certainly sounds the death knell.

I used to despise Roger Moore as James Bond but now I like these movies playing in the background due to the great scenery and foreign location they were shot in. Crashing though an Indian bazaar for a seven minute chase scene comes to mind

Felix Leiter and Quarrel, at least in one or two movies, can't remember specifically in any of Fleming's books, been too long since I have read them.
That way there's no need to slowly get readers comfortable with the idea of a bisexual, black, transgendered "Jamie" Bond that spends most of its time informing the public of the dangers of global climate change.

That said, if Barbra Broccoli and the people responsible for the Bond films and franchise ever go this route in a Bond film they will forever lose me and millions upon million of other loyal Bond fans as customers. And, if they want to know how that will turn out they can just ask J. C. Penny and Disney World: We haven't spent a dime on either since both companies decided to Mae homosexuals their "base" customers.
