While it seems liberals may think that raising the minimum wage will raise living standards for poor Americans, they should have seen this coming.
With Los Angeles joining Seattle in setting a $15 minimum wage (Los Angeles by 2020, and Seattle by 2021), it stands to reason that McDonalds would find a way around simply paying workers more, as Vox pointed out the obvious fact that the reality is that McDonalds just wants to make money.

Sounds like you might be able to get good service at McDonald’s again!
It probably has to do more with trying to running the “lowlife” out of Seattle in favor of more “elite” gentrified neighborhoods
Hey, it worked with Sec. 8 housing and school deseg. Shoo them off to the Republican burbs, that’ll teach em!
Raise the minimum wage so they choose to work/live outside city limits.
Karma is a bitch.
Life is hard. Being stupid doesn’t make it easier.
Interesting
Poll Results If the race for the GOP nomination was between Jeb Bush & Donald Trump, who would you vote for?
Jeb Bush 5% 311
Donald Trump 82% 5225
Undecided 2% 145
Other 11% 719
the reality is that McDonalds just wants to make money.
There’s the problem right there, Greedy self serving business owner operating in his own self interest and to hell with the poor worker.
Massive legal immigration has created a massive surplus of low skill labor in the USA.
That artificial labor surplus has motivated restaurant operators to freeze wages and benefits. The operators have also cut back on normal capital spending for labor saving machines and software.
With the new $15 wage, voted into law by the same foreign workers that Libertarians used to love, restaurant operators must now dramatically increase capital expenditures in order to eliminate high priced employees.
Just read an article at CNBC a couple hours ago. There has been ZERO growth in USA restaurant productivity in the last 10 years! Today's employees each generate $87,000 of restaurant sales, exactly the same as 2005.
Meanwhile, also in the last 10 years, the Democrat Party has legally imported about 8 million new Socialist voters, exactly the same policy the Libertarians have demanded.
So, congratulations Libertarians. You got exactly what you wanted. And now, you, and the rest of America, must reap the whirlwind.
Wa Wa Hut has those silly things and I stopped going there.
OK, we know that there was big organization & money from the labor unions for the “Living Wage / Minimum Wage” effort. We know that there is little unionization in ‘fast food’ and little union interest because of the high turnover and low wages. So why the union interest and effort? Could it be more for government unions with wages tied to minimum wage?
Not really if you count the order-takers’ time to go back and correct the orders with the cooks while you wait. But expect some sabotage. McDs should put the cooks behind glass so you can watch your order.
Bacteria laden touch screens are a major turn off for me. I would stop going, which is actually a good thing. MCD’s is not the healthiest of choice you can make.
I have a friend who responds to these on-line polls and uses email address of some of the libs he knows. Pretty funny.
