To take an ordinary rainbow as a sign of anything other than raindrops and a beam of sunlight is too dumb for words.

“Yet, it was not long ago that America desecrated the sign of the rainbow by using a vessel of God to celebrate the Supreme Courts striking down the biblical definition of marriage.
The left desecrates everything it touches.

What do you mean? How dare you speak in a tone that is an absolute effront to God. God promised Noah that never again would he use flood waters as punishment and created the rainbow to validate his promise. What rain drops? what are you saying?

Hmm. It is obviously the scientific understanding of a rainbow yes, but, do you mean to say that God cannot use part of the natural weather/atmospheric tendency as symbolism? Life goes on for thousands of years as we know it, and God is mostly silent, but it’s foretold that He won’t be silent forever and many of us Christians are feeling the nearing of that era.

Lightning strikes the crane just before it collapses on the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
You're probably right. Maybe the rainbow and the lightning should have been switched. It would have probably been a little more effective for you, and it just wouldn't have seemed so dumb. Huh?

I looked and I have yet to find the word “Shemitah” anywhere in Scriptures. And if it’s not in the Word of God, I am not required to believe it.

Rainbows are not “over” anything. It is an illusion based on geometry of the observer, the light source (sun), and the rain droplets.

Of course God can do anything He wants. But I’m sure He can do better than an ordinary, garden-variety, happens-thousands-of-times-every-day somewhere standard rainbow.

Have you tried Leviticus 25:1-7 and Deuteronomy 15:1-3 for an explanation? (And no I didn’t see Shemitah spelled out there either.)
Of course “rapture” is not in the Bible either, so obviously you’re not required to believe in it, right?

Well, the lightning and crane collapse right over a huge false-religion crowd certainly catches one’s attention.

Of course rapture is not in the Bible either, so obviously youre not required to believe in it, right? I didn't think that any discerning Christian believed in that malarky.

Rainbows are the symbol of a promise from Hod....be happy we have them to see. If it rained continuously for 40 days and 40 nights you wouldn’t be seeing them...just ask Noah when you see him.
