But now Carly Fiorina's story has been put in doubt by the man she was with at the very start of her rise.
Todd Bartlem, who went on to become Fiorina's first husband, accuses her of creating a misleading mythology and 'losing her humanity' for a 'pathological' pursuit of power.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Online, he said: 'It's not like she was a secretary for 15 years and rose up. She dropped out of law school, she settled on business school. It was all very planned.
'She's a very calculating person and her risks paid off but whenever I read descriptions about her life there'd always be this bit that she rose from a secretary at a real estate company to the head of AT&T
'I mean she had a part-time position when she quit law school and she had to have money to pay the rent, so she worked as a secretary to a real estate firm in Palo Alto, but it was incidental.'

I remember and posted to it as well. Even if Fiorina were not to use a sinister application of Hegel, it is too obtuse and theoretical to be applied in the real world.
oops: no it all .....make that “Know it all” gee.
I can't see her being able to connect emotionally with people any better than Hillary. She will never get my vote.
Okay, I checked Wikipedia and they said it was 6 months as a receptionist, so I buy that it’s a little overstated as part of her resume.
Oh so wrong
Oh stop already. It was a dumb comment when you first posted it and it doesn’t get any better just because you post it again.
I will take Sarah Palin over Fiorina any day of the week.
ping
Not even close.
Eight years is hardly a brief marriage....eight weeks maybe.
your other comments are your opinion on her life not every one’s
I don’t know her personally and so can’t comment on that. What I do know about is the disaster that she created at both Lucent and HP. Watched unfold in slow motion. She NEVER did understand that what she was doing was destroying the very company she was supposed to be leading. Heck even grade school children could have understood that
HTH do you know either of these women’s IQs?
I can see Trump saying look at that face in the sense of saying look at that sour puss.
When you look at Fiorina’s face you see an angry vindictive, will-stop-at-nothing woman.
Her face says it all. I understand what Trump meant. She looks like she is constantly taking a bite out of a lemon.
I read the article that quoted her ex-husband extensively and that is EXACTLY what he said. You are just dead on.
Do you care about ideas or is it all about whether a candidate “connects emotionally” with you? Whatever the hell that means exactly. I know it’s not something I would expect a conservative to prioritize. Emotion is the only reason why Obama is president right now.
There is a saying that the last refuge of failure is ambition and power.
Hillary is getting a taste of that now. Everything she touches turns to crap.
Fiorina is going down the same path.
I wouldn’t say that she is more intelligent than Palin. She IS more articulate. I don’t think you can dispute that, and that’s no small thing.

Oops...I didn’t realize I was posting on the very article that relates what the ex-husband has to say. LOL
So she’s passing herself off as an outsider when she’s actually been working in national politics for almost 10 years. And worked for two presidential candidates...
Someone last night said she was like an ex wife..I say shrewd pissed off ex wife. She looked mad or at least irritated last night. That fake smile makes her look like a predator.
Don’t like her never did.
And of course the media is pumping her up as the greatest thing since peanut butter...
I have a great deal of respect for Mark Levin. He’s a brilliant lawyer and scholar. I listen daily.
I am, however, incredibly disappointed in his attitude about Trump. Last night is a prime example - Trump started in on Paul (completely unprovoked and out of context to the question) from the get-go, and with incredibly juvenile taunts. Paul rightly called him out on it, and yet he’s the one who gets blamed for “making this all about Trump!”. Same with Carly and her professional record. He is also critical about Fiorina’s (and others in the race) past daliances in political moderatism, and doesn’t mention Trump’s equally (and often much more) egregious flip-flops.
I’m not a Cruz fan by any means, but I don’t think there is any doubt that he’s the most conservative candidate in the race. If Mark held Cruz up as his candidate and judged the others against that standard, then so be it - at least it’s consistent with his beliefs. To criticize other candidates for “impurity” but to give Trump a pass, however, is highly troubling.
Man I really do not like her after reading this. I wasnt too big on her before this either.

I DEFINITELY do not like her now. What particularly galls me is how she USED the memory of her husband’s daughter (Carly’s step-daughter; the husband’s ex-wife was granted custody of two daughters when they were divorced) and, IMHO, intentionally mislead me and millions of other debate watchers into believing that the step-daughter who died of a drug overdose were HER children. That is one cold-hearted, scheming woman. She is a USER of people merely to advance her own ambitions and then drops them when they are no longer needed.
