Cruz is right. No religious test.

Now what would likely happen is similar to what Kennedy with similar concerns about Catholics/Pope.

A muslim, though, would have to renounce much of Islam, or not be much of a muslim.

If you say, “well, muslim could lie about that,” a muslim could also lie about supporting Islam/Caliphate. Maybe we’ve already elected one of those.

But Cruz is correct, no religious test for public office, and should not be one.

I don't see where Carson said anything about a religious test for office. He simply he said he didn't think a Muslim is fitted for the office of POTUS.

Cruz’s statement and Carson’s statements are not incompatible.

“Cruz is right. No religious test.”

It must be exhilarating to be so broad minded, so open minded. Just think, you would die for somebody’s right to slit your throat if you don’t convert to his religion. Now, that is true dedication.

However, the plain context of the Constitution, as explained by the ones who wrote it, was fashioned solely in the context of Christianity. They wrote that it could only exist in the context of a Christian population. And, they didn’t think it could exist with any other people, also.
