TEHRAN, Sep. 22 (MNA) – Iran’s Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces has said Iran’s forces ‘actively welcomes first strike by Israel against Iran only to precipitate their own annihilation.’
Maj. Gen. Ataollah Salehi who was talking to reporters on the sidelines of the Army parade held on the occasion of Sacred Defense Week, said that Iran had not perceived any threat by any of its neighbors; “we will definitely confront any threat and would wipe Israel out of the map; we actively welcome first strike and provocation by the Zionist regime only to initiate an operation which brings the regime to historic annihilation long before the Leader’s predicted date of 25 years,” he emphasized.
“Our wiping the Zionist regime out of the map would also benefit American tax-payers whose taxes are expended for providing security of Israel; now, we do not see any option on the table and only perceive of hollow threats without action; the global imperialism spares no measures to plunge the region into chaos,” Salehi told reporters. “Through terrorist and extremist groups, it seeks realization of its interests; however they know that there is a regional power, Islamic Republic of Iran, which brought six world powers to negotiation table, and which only seeks to promote the international centrality of Islam and its Revolution above all other considerations,” he added.

I recall reading something from an Israeli general to the effect that Israel is not the 24th most powerful country in the world, it is more like fourth. It punches way above it's weight class.
I have little doubt that Israel can turn Iran's entire military into a vast glassy plain that glows blue in the night.
I predict that Russia will figure prominently in any fight between Israel and Iran and it won’t end well for either Russia or Iran.
