Marco Rubio has overtaken Jeb Bush among Florida Republicans, as he benefits from positive reviews of his performance in the most recent presidential debate.

A Florida Atlantic University poll to be released Wednesday shows Rubio, the state's junior senator, is in second place in the Republican primary field in Florida. His political mentor, former Gov. Jeb Bush, is in third place.

Donald Trump, the real estate investor, former reality TV show host and part-time Palm Beach resident, is in first place among Florida Republicans, as he is nationally.

"Marco Rubio being that far ahead of Jeb Bush is surprising," said Kevin Wagner, an associate professor of political science at FAU and a research fellow at the university's Business and Economics Polling Initiative. "Some of the early Florida polling suggested that Bush was in a stronger position."

Trump is surging in this poll and Jeb is crashing and no mention of the real story.

The real story is the emergence of Jeb Bush by Marco Rubio as the consensus establishment choice to take down Donald Trump.

I like everything about Rubio but I can’t get over the immigration thing.

Rubio made the mistake of attacking Trump today. His little boomlet will be short lived. Like Carly’s dead cat bounce.

The real story is the eclipse of Jeb Bush by Marco Rubio as the consensus establishment choice to take down Donald Trump.

Nevermind, I got it through google news.... “On the Republican side, Trump had 31.5 percent of the Republican primary vote. Rubio was second with 19.2 percent and Bush was third with 11.3 percent.”

Rubio may have a shot if Jeb drops out. Things are about to get interesting. Will the establishment force Jeb Bush out of the race?

My guess is that they are just too stupid to realize that Jeb will never get the nomination. Therefore they will keep backing him thus preventing any real challenge to Trump to emerge. So it’s all good. Trump will in.

Rubio is Jeb Bush, but without the mentally challenged doofus flavor.

Rubio is GOPe through and through, and as an added feature he’s a turncoat who will sell us out in Spanish while he glad-handles us in English. At least Jeb Bush doesn’t pretend to be anything but GOPe. Rubio is Benedict Arnold with a glass of water.

The GOP hates conservatives, and Rubio, having climbed the ladder with the Tea Party, is happily pushing the ladder into the moat while his pals McConnell and John Boehner applaud.

No to Rubio.

My dead cat’s ahead of Jeb Bush.

Looks like Jeb Bushwacked himself with his whiney, me, me, me, I love illegal immigrants act.

RINOS self destruct over time. Lots of fun watching that happen.

Same fake, taped on smile. Not saying that Jeb! isn’t happy to be running, but I don’t think he is the type of person who’s always grinning ear to ear. Jeb is used to concealing his emotions, in my opinion.

“The real story is the emergence of Jeb Bush by Marco Rubio as the consensus establishment choice to take down Donald Trump.”

The real story is that Trump has surged some more in Florida, and is going to be the next President of the United States, much to your chagrin. Rubio, like Walker, looks too much like a youngster, and is primarily a one issue (foreign relations) candidate. He speaks of little else. I guess that’s his way of attempting to establish gravitas when he looks like a young boy.

Plus, and this is purely subjective, he’s too short. He is cute though, I will say, and I like him and he’s smart; it’s just that he is going nowhere, especially because of his illegal immigrant amnesty stance. That’s a no starter with the conservative base. He will be the GOPe go to 2nd choice after Jeb, but he will not be with the conservative base, where it counts.

JEB! may not earn the nomination but it can still be handed to him. The GOPee may yet have a few tricks they can play at the convention even if Trump wins every state primary, and especially if he wins primaries with less than 50% of the vote. They may come to rue the winner take all change, however. It will make it that much harder for them to do what they want. We can hope that JEB! decides to take himself out of the race, but I would not hold my breath.

I would advise any Trump supporter not to get overly confident this early. After this last trick thinking they could set Trump up with fake Muslim hate and their love of ambush and attack at the debates, I have no doubt they will pull some form of the Mississippi solution out of their hat sometime during the primaries. They are already trying to portray Trump as a racist. Though there is no hispanic illegal “race,” and JEB!’s pointing a finger at asians being a problem seems much more “racist” to me. I’m sure the GOPee is establishing a walking around money fund right now.

Wow. Watching a turtle race monetarily propped up and supported by idiots in caskets in a furniture shop for a photograph.
