Trump announces boycott; Fox News doubles down on insults

NEW YORK (AP) -- Donald Trump says he's done appearing on Fox News shows for the "foreseeable future" because he doesn't like the network's coverage of his presidential campaign.

The billionaire businessman and leading Republican candidate tweets that Fox News has been treating him "very unfairly" and that he's going to stop appearing on its shows.

But a Fox News spokeswoman says that Trump only announced his boycott after the channel canceled a scheduled Trump appearance on "The O'Reilly Factor" Thursday.

She says in a statement that when coverage doesn't go Trump's way, he engages in personal attacks on Fox anchors and hosts.

She says the behavior has "grown stale and tiresome."

Trump has been feuding with the network since the first GOP primary debate, when he objected to the moderators' questions.

Trump is a blowhard bully who will never be president.

Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel.... Mark Twain.

Stopped watching Faux News after the first debate.

Yesterday I watched the Pope’s address to Congress via MSNBC. The MSNBC team consisted of Brian Williams, Chris Mathews and Maddow. They were unintentionally hilarious in their banal comments. Dumb as a box of rocks.

I started boycotting Wells Fargo bank after they told me they were closing my account.

"The same O'Reilly who is always complaining about adversaries who won't come on his show. "

That's the guy. Same one who launches boycotts against companies, countries, and politicos. Fox is getting a taste of their own medicine.

Like you, I’m a Cruz supporter, but I’ve come to the conclusion that Trump is the real deal; the fact that Cruz and Trump are clearly allies doesn’t hurt. While I disagree with some of his positions, I think the guy is, above all else, an American, a capitalist and he’s honest to a fault. To put a fine point on it, I’m cool with that.

While his continued pissing contests with Fox, et al, seem to be a distraction, they’re keeping his/our pet policy issues and his name in the news and they don’t reflect any differently on him than they do on his detractors. I respect and appreciate his willingness to do battle - something I admire in Ted Cruz as well.

“They put up Perry to take Trump out, didn’t work; they put up the faux debate team to take him out, didn’t work; they put up Bush to take him out, didn’t work; you can go down the line and see what they are doing...”

And now they’re using Snarly Fiorina to try to take him out. When it becomes known that she’s really a Democrat Light, I suspect that effort will fail as well.

If he could care less, why does he tweet about them all the time? Why does he announce a boycott of them? They dangle the bait at him and he takes it, hook, line and sinker-every single time. A fish learns, yet he remains clueless. Yet he’s the one who’s “winning”? I fail to see that at all.

"Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel.... Mark Twain"

A very poorly thought out quote that I have never subscribed to. Such mentality defaults the media as omnipotent, and it has gone to their heads.

I appreciate Mr. Trump for simply calling out the MSM and taking the fight to them. This has been a long time in coming, and most people who are observing the battle don't seem to understand the tactics being employed by either side, or simply don't care to acknowledge them.

Donald Trump is full of it. Realistically he cannot be elected President. Way too many people are turned off by his pomposity.

I have said before that if he would only behave in a decent and respectable manner to others who may disagree with him, he would be able to build a juggernaut which would be unstoppable. He has the intelligence and the leadership that is currently lacking in DC. But his rudeness and boorish behavior is totally offsetting.

I have spoken with several relatives about Trump, and without any input from me, they have said they will never vote for Trump and may sit out the election if he is the GOP choice.

It is time for Trump and his supporters to realize what the real threat to our nation is. And it could be corrected with a strong GOP nominee like Trump - but requires civility. Is Donald Trump so enamored of his own persona that he thinks he is a godlike figure and can say and do anything with impunity?

One of the things I like about Trump is that finally somebody has the courage to talk back to MSM.

Oh, did the network tell Trump he couldn’t be on ANY of it’s shows? I thought just the O’Reilly Factor cancelled. Thanks for letting us know that.

The first half of Megyn Kellys show is all anti-Trump. Hes slipping in the polls! Carly is Suging at 9 points. It gets funny and shrill. Trump had every reason to stop talking to them as the dedicate themselves to his destruction. If he falls—they will gloat they did him in. They will starve him out by not saying a word—or do all they can to cut him down with any real of imagined “scandal” —Like his non-stand on the Muslem hating plant.
