Because they know they're next in the cross hairs.
Gee could it be blackmail, young boys, pictures, what could possibly keep him from being deal leader’s continued water boy?
He should leave now.
Uh, like 62% of the Republican Party?
On KFI they said Boner just left the room suddenly and they didn’t know what to do. And that Nancy P, who “never met a podium she didn’t like,” jumped right in.
As a resident of his district who voted for a conservative in the primary, hopefully the message is clear enough and Kasich will appoint a conservative replacement. Won’t hold my breath.
Something to consider from article:
“Boehner’s decision removes the possibility of a damaging vote to strip him of his speakership, a scenario that grew more likely amid the conservative clamor over a shutdown. “
They saw the caboose on the Gravy Train. Trump and Cruz have stirred the masses.
Two scalps—Cantor, now Boner.
I want more.
Oh my...I bet the tears were flowing like a faucet.
My take is that the string-pullers behind the GOP-e are cockroaches who don’t like to see the light of day. The GOP conservative base was on to them, and Boehner became their lightning rod. The hope is Boehner goes away, the problem goes away. Kind of a Stalinist solution.
“No man, no problem.”
You are kidding about a Conservative replacement being appointed, right?
If the left had anything on him, they’d want him to stay and continue doing what he’s doing - obstructing any efforts to thwart Obama.
This looks more like “John, we’ve got the votes to kick your @$$ to the curb - just resign and leave with your dignity.”
To the voters in his home district: Give Johnny a big welcome home bash at some tavern. Actually find a phone booth to hold it in.
He had to resign after his display yesterday.
Rep. Tim Huelskamp of Kansas said "it's time for new leadership," and Rep. Tom Massie of Kentucky said the speaker "subverted our Republic."
But more mainstream Republicans said it would be a pyrrhic victory for Tea Party-aligned lawmakers.
"The honor of John Boehner this morning stands in stark contrast to the idiocy of those members who seek to continually divide us," said Rep. David Jolly of Florida.
It is clear that there are actually two different parties in Congress, both of whom call themselves Republicans.
WHY is he leaving? why now?
Conflict with conservatives? tension over PP? POTUS planning something the Crying Cheeto refused to facilitate, and either resign or get the closetful of skeletons opened? Just can’t handle things like the Pope speaking?
Dang right!!!! Anyways.... There is a God!!
