Finally someone who is asking the same question as I. What makes Ted Cruz such a darling when in fact he is just as much a professional politician as the rest, with the four exceptions, on the Republican side.

I researched Cruz also and all I found, outside one year of private practice, is someone who has never not been in public service. How has that worked out for all of us over the last 35 years since that seems to be all the choices we have.

Yes Trump is not perfect but given the past records of what we have had I am ready to gamble on a true non-political outsider, and Trump knows exactly how to play the game.

I have made up my mind it’s Trump or nothing, I will not support another Professional Politician.

Well, he’s doing one helluva good job teaching us how to take on and directly fight the media and the entrenched establishment elite. And the grassroots voters are loving it.

Goodbye Boehner.

Go, Trump, GO!!

We can’t spare this guy. He’s a fighter.

After roughly two decades of power infighting, comical leadership from both parties, and dismal trust in anyone fixing things...the public has come around to ask what exactly are your qualifications.

From the Democrats this time....you have a former Sec of State that no one can seem to note any achievement from four years of work. Other than being married to some guy named ‘Bill’....that’s the resume. Then you have a socialist named Bernie, who actually gives a good chat, but his resume is mostly just stamped Senator and his high-point is decent speeches (something we now realize is worthless in the real world). Then there’s the Irish guy from Maryland....who has some executive experience as a Governor, but seems to be mostly hyped up on taxation and how to increase it.

So, you look at the Republicans. This Jeb guy really doesn’t seem to be enthusiastic but he has at least a one-page resume. But the Jeb guy has some opinions on refugees and immigrants that doesn’t charm most folks. The doctor? Well, he’s got a ton of ethics and gives impressive speeches. He’s got lots of doctor experience but no real executive experience.

The New Jersey guy has some kind of weird ‘bridge-gate’ episode that he can’t seem to shake. The HP gal has some decent credentials as executive....although mostly for running companies into the ground. Senator Graham would be better suited as a insurance salesman than President. Huck can play the guitar and occasionally give you a good ethical speech, but he’s just not national leader material.

Jindal and Kaisch are mostly unknowns to ninety-percent of Republicans. Rand Paul is a joke....amazing most folks that he still gets support from Kentucky.

Rubio captures some imagination. But his resume is mostly just US Senator, and speeches.

So you are left with Cruz who might be better suited as a Supreme Court judge and give the nation some dynamics for two or three decades.....and Trump, who is this wild-card of a candidate.

Oddly, working class people of both parties like Trump. They want some guy to go into DC and just start firing people, and accomplishing executive action on a ‘New York Yankees-level’. Brash? Yeah. A problem in dealing with a complex world? He’ll apply business practices to an office which has never really been run that way.

In some ways, Trump could be more of a problem after four years than either Bush or Obama. My hunch is that he’s there for only four years and intends to stage some massive change that will hype negative actions out of both political parties and the establish power-base of Washington. The thing is....we might actually want this type of leader (a non-political guy) after four years of Trump, and create a wave of refusing Senators or Governors for the position in the future. That might worry some people.

In essence, the 2016 race is now about the lack of any legit alternative candidate (from either party) to Trump. It is in some ways....the weakest group that I’ve seen in two or three decades. Go ask any real Democrat about how they feel about this upcoming primary season and they will just grin and remark that it’s pretty dismal. Most Republicans are still unattached and gazing at how Trump seems to survive.

Uh, you may want to do a little more research into his public service in Texas, defending the constitution before the SCOTUS and winning.

Well, don’t worry about it. All the smart people know he’ll never be president.

All the anti-Trump concern trolling is getting old though.

A leader doesn’t do all the details. A leader sets the plan and trusts those around themself to handle the details. Set policy, assign tasks, follow up, make sure it happens. A leader who bullet-points is an idiot, frankly.

Looks like Trump has already accomplished more in the last three months than the entire GOP has in the last 7 years. All the GOP has accomplished is to give Obama everything he wants without even putting up a fight.

Yeah. They all need a detailed policy plan. Like Reagan’s foreign policy plan against the communists, for instance: We win, they lose.

Trump’s plan is not unlike Reagan’s. Build the greatest military in the world and be prepared. Then if some Islamofascist madman dares to rear his ugly terrorist head, swat him down and be done with it.

Beats the hell out of appeasement and being groped in airports for the rest of our lives.

I don’t agree he could win.. at the convention and with all the democrats willing to vote for him the main election as well..

So I try to advise and consent to the best of the best..
Amazing I even have to do this at Free Republic..
Other places yeah but HERE?.. amazing..

Now is the time.. for a healthy “nudge”..
Not later.. closer to the convention.. the dye will be set..

So the worst that can happen is a man who loves America and capitalism wins? Big deal. I can live with that. We’ll suffer through.

I like Cruz, but the fact is that he is a Senator and Senators do not actually do much which is one of the knocks against a Senator running for President. Cruz has given some good speeches and talked about things that nobody else in the Senate would but as far as my research goes, Cruz has not actually gotten much done during his time there. Perhaps you can enlighten me by naming some of his successful legislation? Like him or not, Trump has proven for decades that he can successfully run a large, complex enterprise operation. It basically comes down to wether or not you believe Trump will do as he says because you know he can get things done.

The Democrats are absolute ideologues who are hellbent on forcing their leftist ideology on the nation through the law, the courts, the schools, the news and entertainment media, the health care system, presidential fiat, fraud, threats of violence, threats of being fired, fined, jailed, shunned and shamed.

You can’t defeat them if you don’t know who your enemy is and what they are doing. The “I’m going to run things better” philosophy doesn’t even begin to get at the heart of the problem. The philosophy of putting your finger in the air and picking out whatever position is popular at the time doesn’t help us defeat them unless the public understands what is going on, which the vast majority most of the time don’t.

Very few Republicans at the upper echelons of government understand and subscribe to the conservative philosophy. That is why they so rarely appoint actual conservative justices to the courts. It takes one to know one, and they usually aren’t one. Some of them are conservative, but don’t understand the insidious and unrelenting push of the left to enact radical Marxist revolution and shred our Constitution into tatters. So they take their eye off the ball and just appoint “a nice guy,” not realizing that whenever you aren’t pushing back against the left, they are pushing forward. Being neutral in the fight is akin to surrendering.

Obama is a beloved figure to liberals. He has done everything in his power to fill their wish list including socialized medicine, mass amnesty, wealth redistribution, cutting our military, same-sex marriage, race-based agitation, taxpayer-funded abortion, far-left court appointments, global-warming regulation, increased surveillance state powers, special rights for all non-straight-white-males, and making all of our foreign enemies more powerful to reduce America’s “colonial” influence in the world.

You can be sure that on every single bullet point, Cruz is the anti-Obama. That is what we desperately need as an antidote to everything Obama has done. As Cruz says in his speeches, we need someone who is as willing to fight for conservative principles as Obama is for liberal principles. Cruz can identify every single destructive policy of Obama and is intent on unraveling and reversing every single one. He is a true conservative who will be able to sniff out true conservative justices and cabinet appointments who will enact his principles on every level of government.

Unlike most Republican presidents, Cruz will have a litmus test before he hires anyone. We’re not going to see a David Souter or Colin Powell appointed under Cruz. He’s not going to appoint someone he “likes” or who will “do a good job.” He’s going to appoint people who will advance strict conservative ideology at every level of government. Because liberals are so relentless at weaseling their way into every opening they can, if we don’t have a president who is actively sniffing people out and testing their philosophy at every turn, liberals will get in there.

Cruz is the only guy we have running who is truly engaged in the culture and political war, who truly understands the difference between right and left, who knows how to identify the liberals, socialists, Marxists and communists and who knows how to defeat them. He is the right candidate at the right time to turn our country around and enact the true, conservative change we so desperately need.

Cruz doesn’t criticize any of the Republican candidates by name. It remains to be seen if this strategy will work. Gingrich tried it and it worked for a while until it didn’t. Then he started criticizing them and that didn’t work either.

That’s right. Now you’re beginning to see the light. Sit back and enjoy watching Trump kicking liberal and RINO butt.

He’s doing one helluva a great job cleaning house and clearing the field.

Wasn’t that long ago when all the smart money was on Bush. Then Walker. Then Carson. Then FioRINO. Who are they going to try next? Kasich? Christie? Paul? Jindal?

One thing for sure, the smart money will never be with Cruz or Trump.

Go, Trump, GO!!

Go, Cruz, GO!!

These two make a great RINO busting tag team.
