This is something odd about the case that occurred to me earlier in the day.
How often do you see minors who have been suddenly catapulted from ordinary anonymous life into national and international fame by some incident, and they are apparently routinely interviewed by the media by themselves? No parents or other family with them during the interviews, and no attorneys either.
I've seen two videotaped interviews of him, one with the Dallas Morning News, and the other on Al Jazeera, and read other interviews, and so far it seems like he does the interviews alone. I do remember reading some remarks from his father in the beginning, but it seems funny how many stories and the two videotaped interviews have him being questioned by himself.
Some possibilities that come to mind on that are that his father or family believe they might make a bad impression if they're put on camera (or they've been advised that), OR they feel the "story" finds more sympathy and therefore they get more miles out of it if Ahmed is interviewed alone, OR they fear more skeptical and reasonable questions, like about Ahmed's background and records, or their possible involvement, if they themselves join him in the interviews.
The media also has to be asking about the terms of the interviews and discussing who is to be interviewed, though, and also has to know they can't push a juvenile as hard, so they have to actually be cooperating with promoting Ahmed and his story since they know they're being "softball," know the questions they're forgoing asking, and also don't even bring up that Ahmed's parents have been asked to be interviewed too, and apparently are refusing. The media is, not surprisingly, providing PR as "objective journalism."
Another Ahmed Mohamed interview from right after the story broke, with Good Morning America. He can hardly contain himself. It's a little bizarre almost, how giddy he seems:

He’s either Valerie Jarrett’s bastard son, or one of the Sandy Hoax victims come back to life. Not sure which.
They use kids as suicide bombers throughout the Middle East.
Obama is making a bomb maker into a hero
mark
how much free stuff did Gates give to the veterans’ children?
did zuckerburg invite soldier’s kids for a visit?
Any colleges offering them 4 year scholarships?
Is it wrong to mention that his older sister was detained and investigated for making a bomb threat at her school, too?
Little Ahmed makes me want to slap him into next week.
I just watched his family’s “press conference.”
A number of people spoke before he did, including Muslim representatives and his sister and father. Then he spoke, using some identical language from other interviews, and then some questions were asked of him.
When something particular was asked of him about what happened, though, apparently a lawyer spoke up and said something like, “We’re going to hold off on comments on the particular situation.”
So they can tell his side to a world-wide audience, but they won’t allow their story to be scrutinized.
The news station cut away, then, so I didn’t see if any of his family were asked any questions, but apparently they won’t answer them about the incident, anyway, unless it was how it was an injustice supposedly.
The press conference:
It is very strange, almost as If Ahmed has been granted a pardon by Obama or immunity by the Texas Attorney General or local DA.
Most adults faced with criminal charges or suspected of a crime do not do interviews without a lawyer.
The suicide bombers do not invent anything either. They simply repurpose technology.
And he is also “severely traumatized.” Why would he be put out in front of national audiences by himself, then, considering all the pressure of that, without his parents and/or lawyers there by his side for support?
Obviously, they ARE there, though. But if they go ON camera, then THEY would be fair game for questions.
The number one, question, too, might be about the school district’s request that they release Ahmed’s records.
And apparently the lawyers can imagine Americans thinking that’s a very fair question.
And their lawyers can also imagine that as long as the adults are kept off camera and out of the interviews, they can plausibly distract people from thinking more skeptically. Put the parents and/or lawyers on, and they can’t.
So as long as they aren’t on camera, no one is going to ask Ahmed about releasing his records, or any other truly challenging question - at least not one that they probably haven’t agreed to beforehand.
This was a coordinated effort between Little Ahmed’s family and the Obola admin to make muzzies look fuzzy. I don’t think it had the desired effect.
He built the clock like he said, or he disassembled it and put it into a pencil box?
V for victory over the infidel
He’s black, so we’ll maintain the fiction that he built a clock (rather than disguised one built by someone who wasn’t Sudanese).
He took the case off a clock, threw it in a pencil box, and brought it in to school as a piece of performance art. Naturally, our country’s idiots in powerful places greedily lap it up.
Now the liberal progressive kiss a## diversity, pc, we love everyone crowd will instruct thier teachers and administrators to pay no attention to the kids with electronics in boxes in the classroom, insteps a jihadist parent who are use to strapping bombs on thier kids into a school in your town with teachers and administrators who are told to look the other way or else. Here is where they get to murder your children because stupid people follow an agenda by stupid people putting your children in harmsway. testing testing
I was thinking that, too. Radicalized Muslims in America and everywhere else must be very happy right now.
