What next ahmed
If it hits on a weekend, I’ll still drive in to work despite Sfachim shutting down the roads and acting as if utter doom is upon us.
Thank you. Have bookmarked. Looks fun.
Joaquin can head out to sea or take down the Eastern power grid, from SC to Maine. This one Yankees need to keep an eye on.

they said there will be low clouds. I guess we will see. I’m hoping for at worst delays.
Prayers for your girlfriend. Have a wonderful vacation!
Got over 9” here (Gautier/Pascagoula, Ms) on Sunday as the low in the gulf drifted up. Getting ready for a trip that should skirt the western boundaries of the wet areas and hopefully find the east coast a bit clearer in a couple weeks as we make the loop.
I’m in NC. It has rained here every day since last Thursday and the ground is saturated. We don’t need more rain.
That’s so sweet! thank you. Saying my prayers right now :) I work overnight so i pray overnight on downtime :)
I hope you are able to get out with little or no delay and that you have a wonderful time.

This board is awesome. So many wonderful people like yourself. With all the prayers we are getting I’m sure we’ll be fine now :)
I’m in NC as well, thought the rain had stopped yesterday but got a downpour overnight. It’s very saturated as you say, a tropical storm on top of it will bring flooding.
Our governor here in NY had a blast declaring an emergency during a snowstorm that didn’t require it.
The news hyped the coming snowstorm, then it hit and it was “meh” at best.
I’m “essential personnel” at me job, and have to be there anyway.
We lost power from 8 last night until 3 this morning. The cable/internet didn’t come back until after 12. Yesterday, we got over 3 inches during the afternoon. The weather during the next couple of days looks quite bad ... rain estimates from 5 up to 8 or 9 inches, depending on what Joaquin does. The ground is so saturated & the trees all have leaves (makes for a lot of wind resistance) so when the nor’easter blows through, it could be similar to having a hurricane hit with trees down and loss of power (plus flooding issues). We’ve filled up the gas cans to run the generator & are trying to batten down the hatches.
The good news (per my favorite meteoroligist - private forecaster, not one of the TV guys) is that the Wednesday afternoon European model has just come out. It does not shift the hurricane to the coast. The new European model continues as the last several runs of the European model have shown... it takes the hurricane out to sea and does not show a US East Coast landfall. Hoping that model trend holds!!
So do I. We don’t need all that rain.
:) Have a great time!
I really hope this storm goes out to sea and we are unaffected by it.
Thanks!!
