Donald and Melania Trump's Unlikely Love Story: Why She Initially Refused to Give Him Her Number
People ^ | 9/30/2015 | Jess Cagle and Charlotte Triggs

They could end up being America's First Family, but when Donald and Melania Trump first met in 1998, they almost didn't get together. When asked to describe the moment he met Melania and the moment he fell in love with her, Trump says, "It may have been the same moment." Introduced at a party in 1998, one year after he had split from his second wife, Marla Maples, "I saw Melania and I said, 'Who is that?' "Trump recalls. "She was a very successful model. She was terrific. I tried to get her number, and she wouldn't give it to me." Why the cold shoulder? "He came to the party with a date!" Melania explains, laughing. "I had heard he was a ladies' man, and so I said, 'I'm not one of the ladies.' He said later that he sent her to the ladies' room so he could get my number. I was like, 'Oh what a sneaky way!'

I see she came around...

Tonight Megyn Crowley will be on spinning it that Trump stalked Melania but after a stint in rehab she finally gave in and handed him her number. :-)

“But look at what the Bible says about people who believe their own stuff don’t stink...”

I don’t think many of us actually think that. We’re well aware of our own failings.

However, we are not running for President.

Read the article; you’ll be surprised. She’s no bimbo.

Nah. I really am not that into them. I just wondered if they mentioned the bimbo thing like a very strong Trump supporter did on this board. I also wondered if her unofficial title would be FBOTUS. Just askin'...

You have to admit -- a nude model as the president's wife would be a first! To use a tired, old ad campaign phrase, we've come a long way [down], baby.

True. But God said He is no respecter of persons (he has no favorites). God will hold us to the same standard as Trump and any other presidential candidate, because we are all humans. If Trump doesn’t ask for forgiveness for the multiple wives and any other sin in his life, and if we don’t daily confess our sins to God, then God will eventually bring judgment upon all of us. Trump is no better than us and we are no better than him.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

Stop the Hate! Trump was already separated. He never is known to be adulterous.

Wow! I didn’t know all that scuzzy stuff about him. That’s not flattering at all! Does he Tweet ugly things about Wikipedia? Has he tried to sue them? Should we get some screen grabs before he makes them remove it?

Or ... and I’m just wondering out loud here ... does it stay because it’s all true? Hmmmm... Enquiring minds want to know.

A beautiful nude woman is a feast for the eyes! I am much more against violence of humans against humans. Nudity never killed anyone.

Fortunately it WOULD be a first.......much more preferable than the first being Michelle Obama.

“God will hold us to the same standard as Trump and any other presidential candidate, because we are all humans.”

Sure, but we aren’t here to talk about the spiritual state of Mr. Trump, or anyone else for that matter. We’re here to talk about their fitness for the highest office in the land.

If you really think that nobody is any better than anyone else when it comes to THAT question, then would you vote for a liberal? If not, why not?

I don't pretend to speak for Boogieman here, but what I take away from his point is that character matters when electing a president. This whole board was rightfully squawking about Clinton's lack of character back in the 90s.

From a previous post, I'd say that Boogieman is well acquainted with his own shortcomings before God, as I am of mine. And if either of us decide to go into public life and run for office, our frailties should be considered. But it seems that you're asking us to overlook the moral failings of a person who's running for the highest office in the land. Sorry, I have a huge check in my spirit about that. I don't ask for a perfect person, but I at least want one who tries to follow Jesus' example.

When he was asked what his favorite Bible verse is, he couldn't come up with one. I don't know what his favorite verse is, but I feel very safe in saying that his favorite Bible verse is NOT this one in Matthew.

I’m talking about from the Eyes of God. Sin is sin. Trump is not perfect, but neither are we. Are we confessing our own sins that we have committed?

You have a right to judge anyone, but we must also examine our own lives?

“I’m talking about from the Eyes of God. Sin is sin. “

Sure, but you are the only one talking about that. You’re basically trying to change the subject to something that is irrelevant to most of us in this context.

“You have a right to judge anyone, but we must also examine our own lives?”

Yeah, just as soon as I run for President, I’ll make sure that I am holding myself to the same standard I’m holding the current candidates to, okay?

You are correct. In these stories it's Trump who is the male equivalent bimbo.

Yours is becoming a desperate argument. You seem unable to distinguish between assessing the fruit of someone's life and judging them.

You can judge how and whatever you want. Just remember, God is going to judge each of us and what we did in life too - if we don’t repent and ask for forgiveness.

Trump is not the perfect candidate, but we that are analyzing his life are not perfect either. No one that God has put in leadership positions in the Bible was perfect either.

I know exactly what assessing fruit is. God gets the final say, however.
