various, FOX ^ | September 30, 2015 | knarf

I'm FOX challenged but today I had live feeds all over the place because of the Senate vote. Tonight, I'm now listening to a report that Putin has bombed the middle east and no one seems to know what is going on

Hmm. Your name notwithstanding, I’d rather have a secular tyrant in charge of a middle east country than an Islamic theocracy. A strongman is the only one who can keep the Islamofascist nuts at bay. Some peoples just aren’t cut out for democracy. I hate to say it and I never used to believe it, but I now think it’s true.

That is because Islam is fixed in the 7th century. It is incompatible with the modern world.

Totally agree, Russia or Assad don’t fight ISIS.

Syria helped Terrorists against the USA in the invasion of Iraq as we know, Iran also was involved with Soleimani and killed our soldiers. http://www.heritage.org/research/commentary/2004/10/syria-s-trouble

The Syrian Regime back in the ‘80s likely helped bomb the Beirut Marine Barracks as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1983_Beirut_barracks_bombing

Yes, Assad can claim he is protecting Christians but he’s also putting them in a difficult position as well.

Druze are a minority, see how that has worked for them recently.

The Christians from news reports should have been helped in the Summer of 2014,

The Russians are there to fortify Latakia should Damascus fall.

Does Assad fight ISIS? A lot of people will tell you no.

Even in that old opinion piece it makes it clear that long term Assad is anti-ISIS, even if short term he aids them in fighting against the rebels.

“We spent 500 thousand training 9 people.”

No more like 50 MILLION and some say over a hundred MILLION.

And it was supposed to be for 10,000 plus.

More wool pulled over the people’s eyes by Obama and ValJar and the dems. Dems includes most republicans in power these days: the Wash DC Cartel.

Waste the money, waste the resources, waste the blood and treasure.

Traitorous bastards on both sides of the aisle and don’t forget the Islamofacist influence via Saudis Islam Muslim Bro-hood etc etc

Yeah sorry I definitely quoted that number wrong. I’m pretty sure the number was a total of 9 trained for 50 million but I could believe 100 million.

Yep or Armageddon. I think the Ezekiel war may have already occurred in the last blood moon period when everyone attacked Israel and they beat them and took the land they currently have.

He has no interest in helping out with Isis - like our Dear Reader. He’s likely going to use Isis to attack the West and it’s interests so they will be too busy to stand in the way of his Soviet reunion.

Russia will go after any group that is trying to overthrow Assad. That will include the rebels that Obama has been covertly supporting and ISIS too.

The Assads have been Russian clients for decades. Russia has had its sole Mediterranean naval base in Syria since 1971. It’s in their interest to keep Assad in power to keep their naval base secure, and Russians have a history of helping their friends that goes back long before Putin.

Thanks...I thought I heard that number, which is inconceivable. 500 million to train 9 troops.

“Personally, I prefer leaving the name in Arabic and making the acnonym Daesh, which seems to anger them, since it sounds like an Arabic word for “to grind under foot”.”

That’s what the State Department came down with last winter. They sent a directive out at the Baghdad embassy saying henceforth to refer to ISIS as Daesh, I think they called it “Da’esh” or something similar in the email. I think it’s what the Iraqis prefer.

Bingo... so really the only question is Obama creating these conditions on purpose? Typical he is not available to answer questions about any of this and his lackys like Secdef and Kerry are incoherent on the issue. I am sure when he gets around to it and finally a reporter asks him about his regrets that the Syrian Rebels are destroyed by Russia he will say that he just read about that in the paper and he is very upset and will write a stern letter to the U.N. Obama has succeeded in transforming America he emasculated it and it is nothing more than a weak limp wrist bastion of liberal hope...

Correct on all counts. Assad is a Shia Allawite minority. The majority of Syrians are Sunnis. There has always been tension. There was another civil war in the ‘80s his father put down brutally.

The current civil war began when Sunni Syrian army officers started refusing to fire on protesting civilians and Syrian soldiers were repeatedly being shot for refusing to fire on protestors. This is essentially what created the first armed opposition to Assad, the FSA, created by defecting Sunni Army personnel. Once open conflict was occurring the Islamist groups followed suit. This also explains why (Shia) Assad is receiving assistance from (Shia) Iranian-backed groups like (Shia) Hezbollah and (Shia) Hamas. The former took heavy casualties in a recent offensive against (Sunni) Islamist forces and declared they would only act defensively from then on. Which, IMO, is one reason why Russia has entered the fray. Assad is on the ropes and needs foreign intervention to re-take territory.

When the US first started bombing Syrian ISIS positions this spring Assad went on the offensive against the secular opposition groups (our guys) and in the long term has not fared well since he cannot replace forces lost and now lacks forces to retake territories controlled by secular and Islamist opposition forces. Hezbollah has bowed out and Hamas is too little to be effective. Enter Russia.

Putin’s poked a hornet’s nest and lots of Chechnyan’s will flock to Syria for payback they cannot exact in Chechnya, as well as Taliban and AQ. The Gulf states will be more than happy to transit Arabian terrorists to assist as well. Putin’s got his work cut out for him as the secular rebels are within artillery range of the Russian base in Latakia which will require a ground offensive to clear. Look for Islamist groups moving into that area soon to engage.

(Derived from public information sources).
