HONOLULU, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- An undisclosed number of F-22 Raptors of the Hawaii Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force have been deployed to the Middle East for as long as six months.
The Hawaii Air National Guard, or HIANG, said the deployment of most of the fighters and more than 200 personnel from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu took place Sept. 26 but was kept secret for security considerations.
The aircraft and personnel are now in an unidentified location in the region, which is in the area of responsibility of the U.S. Central Command.
"Because of security considerations and host nation sensitivities, the HIANG will not release the base nor country where the Raptors are operating from, nor will the HIANG release the number of F-22 fighters that are deployed," it said.

Syria and Iran have received the most sophisticated Russian SAMs.
Let’s suppose the Raptor is invulnerable to detection and we use it with impunity. Each exposure to potential future enemies further limits the lifetime of that impunity. Also, we run the risk of losing one over enemy territory. The Russians, the Iranians and the Chinese would benefit tremendously. It might catapult their capabilities ahead at zero cost to them.
This is an ego deployment on the part of President Nobel Prize.

Yes, and eventually that isolation will have them accept the so-called peace deal. I believe the creation of the “Palestinian state” is the division of Israel and the covenant of “peace” that will be “assured” for seven years.

You are right South. Syria doesn’t matter at all to the USA. We have our own oil now. The only nation in the middle east that should get US support(but wont because Obama) is Israel. Russia will grow in geopolitical power from this unfortunately but Syria is not worth fighting over. Let them kill each other.
They all chop heads including John McCain and Lindsey Graham’s buddies in the “Free Syrian Army”. But they don’t post the videos online like Islamic State.

The odds of an undesirable outcome just went up.
I expect a F-22 to get shot down and russia and china will have a field day with it. This is absolute failure, and the F-22 should not be used unless we truly have a hot war going on with Russia or China, losing it over syria is dumb and strategically stupid.
