Reuters Trend Polling and OAN/Gravis Polling have each announced and updated Presidential Polling for the GOP race 2016. The results are exceptionally similar. Both polling outcomes reflect Donald Trump with a massive lead amid the rest of the field.

Trump is definitely not your normal candidate... also interesting that as the candidates separate it is Carson and not Cruz who has his coat tails. Both of them have put their finger on problems with immigration of ill behaved foreigners.

Trump just keeps growing in strength.

I don't see why the others don't just get out of the race. Seriously.

They have absolutely no chance.

The stretch behind him disambiguates the smaller players... it is not as if the Presidency is, or ought to be, the post of High God Of The United States. (That is a silly position that the inflation of the Federal government has gotten the country into.) The smaller players will likely have important parts of their own.

Time to send El Jebbe packing from this race so he and his wife can go retire to Ole Méjico. El Jebbe can run for El Jefe down there (then again, if he won in Ciudad de Méjico, he’d still want to dump millions of the criminal underclass on America).

They get to beg money from “donors” to make family and friends rich working for the campaign.....

Sorry folks, I voted in 2008 for Sarah Palin as VP, then followed it up with Romney. If Trump is the nominee, this time I will not vote.

In most presidential elections, I can understand that. They might bring to the fore certain issues that might otherwise be overlooked.

But what important parts might they play in this election?

Money.

Jeb's money is drying up. Walker couldn't even afford the $40K for sign up in SC. I am sure Graham is getting zip as is Jindal.

Carson and Fiorina might get some dough, but that's going to get low in a few weeks.

At the least they have helped to get Trump more honest about what would make America great. He’s taking pages from their books. A lone-Trump field would not have that correction factor in it.

I think people have never been this upset in my lifetime and they are literally thinking the death of America is imminent if we go with the programmed political class once again, who are definitely looking out for themselves and not the nation. Great courage and no reliance on funding groups are required if we are to have any chance of saving this great nation. Trump has both courage and the ability to fund his own campaign, removing the influence of others upon him. No one else has that and it is crucial. We are governed by nameless, faceless individuals, who use politicians as puppets to feather their own nests to the detriment of 99% of ordinary people out here who are just trying to survive. Some of them may not even be citizens of our country. It is crunch time, folks. It is sink or swim. There is no more time to dither. The music will be faced now or never. My opinion.

Yes. Good point.

And they serve as foils against which Trump can define himself.

And what happened with Putin and Syria this week just poured gasoline on the fire.

Trump's numbers will come in even higher in the next few weeks.
